Regional OCOP specialties converge in Ho Chi Minh City to serve Lunar New Year

On January 18-19, units and businesses brought regional OCOP specialty products to the "OCOP Product Fair - Local Specialties" to serve the Tet shopping needs of Ho Chi Minh City residents. Most of the products have been certified with OCOP from 3 stars or higher, ensuring quality and contributing to enriching choices for the Lunar New Year season.

"OCOP product market - Local specialties" gives people the opportunity to freely shop for many Tet items.

This year's "OCOP Fair - Local Specialties" attracted 60 booths from nearly 50 provinces and cities across the country.

Many products sold here have achieved OCOP 3-star, OCOP 4-star certifications and current food safety and hygiene standards.

Typical Tet items such as Chung cake, Pia cake... are sold at reasonable prices. The price of Chung cake ranges from 80,000 - 100,000 VND/piece.

The Central Highlands provinces bring products including: Lingzhi mushrooms, Kon Pne ginseng, K'Bang dried bamboo shoots and Bana handicraft and brocade products...

Binh Dinh province offers products such as Safe honey, ginseng, angelica and wild vegetables.

Ham, sausage, and nem chua are also popular items chosen by many people at this market.

OCOP agricultural products from Lam Dong are chosen by many people.

The traditional cake counter also attracts customers to shop.

As the noon of January 18 approached, the number of customers coming to the "OCOP Product Fair - Local Specialties" increased.

According to Mr. Le Viet Binh, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , by the end of 2024, the country had over 14,642 OCOP products meeting 3-star standards or higher, an increase of 3,586 products compared to 2023. Of which, 73% were 3-star products, 23% were 4-star products and 51 products reached 5 stars. In addition, the country had 8,086 OCOP entities, including 32.7% cooperatives, 24.1% small enterprises, 42.7% production establishments or business households and the rest belonged to cooperative groups.
