The BMW Golf Cup 2023 World Finals will take place from March 4 to March 9, 2024 at the famous Fancourt resort in George, South Africa. The tournament will bring together 33 countries with more than 250 golfers competing on two main golf courses, Outeniqua and Montagu.
Vietnam's representatives, including 3 golfers Tran Dieu Tuan, Nguyen Anh Tuan and Tran Huong Ha, passed the Vietnam final round to win the right to compete in the BMW Golf Cup 2023 World Finals. After 3 days of official competition, the Vietnamese team excellently surpassed 31 countries to win the overall runner-up position in the National Team Category with 278 points. Mexico held first place with 303 points, Italy held third place with 276 points.
In terms of individual achievements, Golfer Nguyen Anh Tuan (HCP 9) won 5th place in the Men's Category 1 (Handicap 1-12) group with 97 points, the score of completing all 3 rounds was 33-31-33. Golfer Tran Dieu Tuan (HCP 4) reached 7th place with 94 points, the score of completing all 3 rounds was 26-31-37. Female Golfer Tran Huong Ha (HCP 15) won 11th place in the Women's group with 87 points, the score of completing all 3 rounds was 32-21-34. All 3 Vietnamese Golfers had high performance and made efforts in each round, worthy of the overall runner-up position.
In addition to the competition time, the BMW Golf Cup also offers many interesting activities for the participating players such as exploring the nature and culture of South Africa, experiencing the latest BMW models and interacting with world-famous golfers. The guests of this tournament are two stars in the golf world, Gary Player and Fanny Sunesson. Gary Player is known as the "Black Knight of the Golf Course", a legendary golfer with 9 times holding the title of Master Champion and is also a famous golf course designer. Fanny Sunesson, the only female caddie named in the Caddy Hall Fame, is currently in charge of teaching professional golf.
With a professional organization scale and long-standing tradition, BMW Golf Cup is the most attractive amateur tournament in the world exclusively for BMW car owners, held annually, bringing the experience "Once in a lifetime - only once in a lifetime".
In Vietnam, Thaco Auto will continue to accompany the BMW Golf Cup tournament to create a classy playground for customers. The qualifying round is expected to be held in November 2024 to continue selecting 3 excellent customers, representing BMW Vietnam to compete in the world finals in the first quarter of 2025.
