Extended family takes 21 special students in Da Nang to take the exam

TPO - This is the first year the extended family has had the largest number of students passing the imperial examinations, since they gathered in Da Nang after a major life event.

This morning, June 26, along with more than 14,000 candidates in Da Nang , 21 students at Hy Vong School (Ngu Hanh Son district) entered the High School Graduation exam.

The Hope School is a common home for children who have lost loved ones in the COVID-19 pandemic from all over the country. Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Project Director of the Hope School, said that since its establishment (2023), this is the first year the school has had so many students taking the exam.

21 candidates took the exam at 3 locations: Le Loi Secondary School, Herman Gmeiner School and Ngu Hanh Son High School. From early morning, teachers and staff in the Hope House got up to check documents and arrange to take the students to each exam location.

After living at Hy Vong School, in addition to having a shared home, being taken care of in every meal and sleep, and overcoming hardships, the children are also taught, supported in their studies, and developed their own strengths.

Teachers and staff at the Hope House always protect and accompany the children, especially during important exams.

This year's 21 students have many wishes. Some want to study journalism, some pursue their passion for music , or become chefs. Some are determined to pass the entrance exams to study medicine, education, etc. Last year, 9 students from the Hope House took the exam, and all 9 of them passed the university entrance exam. Mr. Quyen expressed that this is the happiness and also the motivation for this year's students.

During this exam season, teachers pay a lot of attention and care to the candidates so that they have more time and a comfortable spirit to focus on studying. In addition to class time, teachers and volunteers also tutor students in subjects they are not good at.

The brothers and sisters in the Hope House encouraged the students before entering the first exam. This year, Da Nang has 14,156 candidates registered to take the exam under the 2018 general education program with 30 exam locations; 393 candidates registered to take the exam under the 2006 general education program with 1 exam location.
