Fireworks display at DIFF 2025
The first international fireworks competition took place on March 29, 2008, to commemorate the Liberation Day of the city. In 2017, the event was renamed the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) and was privately funded by Sun Group.
DIFF 2026 will take place over 5 nights of qualifying rounds with the participation of 10 international fireworks teams, presenting performances that combine culture, technology, and light art.

The DIFF 2026 stage is the largest in scale compared to previous festival seasons.
Following the opening night on May 30th with the theme "Nature" between the Da Nang (Vietnam) and China teams, the subsequent competition nights of DIFF 2026 will take place every Saturday evening, including: June 6th with a competition between France and Vietnam (Z121 Factory) with the theme "Heritage"; June 13th with a competition between Japan and Italy with the theme "Culture"; June 20th with the competition between Germany and Macau (China) with the theme "Creativity"; June 27th with a performance by Australia and Portugal with the theme "Vision", before concluding with the final night on July 11th.
According to the organizers, the DIFF 2026 stage will utilize a lifting and lowering arch system more than 40 meters wide and over 10 meters high, considered the largest stage ever built.
