Hanoi National University converts a faculty into a school

The Director of Hanoi National University has just signed a decision on model conversion and reorganization of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences into the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts. The decision takes effect from March 1.

According to the above decision, the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Arts is a training and scientific research unit; self-insurance of regular expenses, with its own seal and account for transactions. The school is organized and operates according to relevant legal provisions, including: the Government's decree on national universities, the regulations on organization and operation of national universities and member highereducation institutions issued by the Prime Minister and regulations on organization and operation of the School of Interdisciplinary Science and Arts, issued by the Director of Hanoi National University.

It is known that the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences is a faculty under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi , established on May 20, 2002, with the name of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies. In the early stages of development, the faculty played the role of a consulting unit for Vietnam National University, Hanoi in postgraduate training. From January 2017, the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies was transformed into the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences, with the core task of implementing interdisciplinary and inter-field undergraduate training programs.

Currently, Hanoi National University has 9 member schools, 2 schools and 2 affiliated faculties (from March there will be 3 schools because of the addition of the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts and the remaining one faculty). In addition, Hanoi National University has 2 affiliated centers, 5 member research institutes, 1 affiliated research institute, 15 support and service units (Hanoi National University Hospital, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital are in this group of units), and a unit performing special tasks.
