On January 9, 2024, at the Thanh Nguyen Commune Cultural House (Thanh Liem), the 29th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Nguyen Commune, term 2024-2029, was solemnly held. The Congress took place over 2 days, January 8-9.
This is the unit chosen by the Thanh Liem District Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee as a model Congress to draw experience for communes and towns in Thanh Liem District in particular and the whole province in general; it is the first unit in the province to organize a grassroots Congress.
Attending the Congress were comrade Tran Thi Ngan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of Thanh Liem district; leaders of Thanh Nguyen commune; Chairmen of the Fatherland Front of districts, towns and cities in the province and communes and towns in Thanh Liem district and 135 official delegates representing the great national unity bloc of Thanh Nguyen commune.
During the past term, the Thanh Nguyen Commune Fatherland Front Committee has actively innovated the content and methods of operation, successfully implementing the Resolution of the 28th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2019-2024 term. With the motto "Speak to the people and listen to the people speak", the Commune Fatherland Front has done a good job of propaganda and mobilization to create consensus among the people to effectively carry out campaigns and emulation movements, especially the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". Thereby, the Front and its member organizations have mobilized people to contribute money and labor to build and upgrade village cultural houses, build village gates, and build concrete rural roads; 100% of villages have spacious cultural houses, fully equipped with basic cultural institutions...
The commune Fatherland Front has mobilized all resources to support the "For the Poor" Fund with a total amount of hundreds of millions of VND, helping the poor, poor students, people in especially difficult circumstances; supporting, building and repairing houses for poor households, people with meritorious services, contributing to reducing the poverty rate of the whole commune to 0.85% according to multidimensional standards. Coordinate with the Commune People's Committee to improve the effectiveness of the Project "National Program for One Commune, One Product", aiming to build products of villages and communes, contributing to creating initiative of people in choosing and producing, trading key products of the locality. Promote the movement of All people protecting national security, building a strong national defense, people's security posture, coordinate to build and maintain the effective operation of self-managed shock security teams, grassroots mediation teams.
In addition, the Commune Fatherland Front also organizes and guides the People to promote their mastery, proactively and actively participate in building a clean and strong Party and government, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the People. During the term, the Commune Fatherland Front chaired 8 supervision sessions and 2 social criticism conferences; improved the quality of activities of the People's Inspection Committees and the Community Investment Supervision Committees... At the same time, proactively grasped the situation, thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people; successfully built the great national unity bloc, becoming a trustworthy bridge between the people and the Party committees and the People's Government. Thereby, it contributed to bringing Thanh Nguyen commune to the standard of a Model New Rural Area by 2020.
The Congress also seriously reviewed and frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in the organization and operation methods of the Commune Fatherland Front in the 2019-2024 term, and at the same time proposed an action program for the 2024-2029 term with the determination to continue to strongly innovate the content and operation methods, promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, well perform the functions and tasks of the Fatherland Front, contributing to building a rich and civilized Thanh Nguyen homeland.
With the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", the Congress democratically elected the positions in the Standing Committee of the Commune Fatherland Front and elected 35 members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Nguyen Commune for the XXIX term, 2024-2029, ensuring the regulations on quantity, structure and composition. The Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Nguyen Commune was a great success, creating a premise for the Thanh Liem District Fatherland Front to continue directing the implementation of the commune-level Fatherland Front Congress according to plan.
