On January 14, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Hungary Bui Le Thai presented his credentials to Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere. Immediately after the presentation of credentials, Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás had a cordial reception with Ambassador Bui Le Thai.

Congratulating Ambassador Bui Le Thai on his appointment as Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary, President Sulyok Tamás sent his regards toPresident Luong Cuong and key leaders of Vietnam.

President Sulyok Tamás highly appreciated the positive developments in the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Hungary and Vietnam in recent times, expressed his confidence and wished Ambassador Bui Le Thai to successfully complete his term of office, contributing to bringing the relationship between the two countries to new heights in all fields of politics - diplomacy, economic - trade cooperation, education and training and people-to-people exchange, especially in the context that the Ambassador's term begins in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950-2025).

Ambassador Bui Le Thai respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President Luong Cuong and key leaders of Vietnam to President Sulyok Tamás and his wife, affirming that Vietnam always values ​​and wishes to further deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary.

Expressing his honor to assume the responsibility of Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary, Ambassador Bui Le Thai reviewed important milestones in the bilateral relationship since it was upgraded to Comprehensive Partnership in 2018, during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Hungary.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai affirmed that he will make every effort to deepen the relationship between the two countries, making it increasingly practical and effective, commensurate with the potential and strengths of each country.

2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations, and is also the first year of his term as Ambassador. The Ambassador and the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary identify this as a pivotal year to bring the Vietnam-Hungary relationship to a new height, developing further in all areas, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás warmly received Ambassador Bui Le Thai.

Accordingly, Ambassador Bui Le Thai respectfully requested the President and relevant agencies of Hungary to pay attention to implementing the agreements reached between the two countries' senior leaders, especially during the official visit to Hungary by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in January 2024; promptly organize the 10th Session of the Vietnam-Hungary Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation; consider recognizing the Vietnamese community in Hungary as the 14th ethnic minority, creating conditions for the community to fully integrate into Hungary.

At the reception, Ambassador Bui Le Thai respectfully reiterated the President's invitation to visit Vietnam at a suitable time. The Hungarian President happily accepted the invitation and expressed that he would arrange to visit Vietnam soon.

After the Credentials Presentation Ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Ambassador Bui Le Thai and members of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary laid a wreath in memory of Hungary's national heroes at Heroes' Square.
