This year's meeting is co-organized by the Bulgarian Business Leadership Forum (BBLF) and the British Embassy in Bulgaria.
This year's event, themed "Bulgaria - Investment Destination", attracted the participation of more than 30 representative agencies of countries and leaders of 45 BBLF member enterprises, representing various fields and industries in Bulgaria.
In his opening speech, BBLF President Anton Panayotov affirmed that the goal of BBLF is to create a forum for dialogue, share cooperation experiences; connect Bulgarian businesses with representative agencies of other countries to expand cooperation channels.
British Ambassador to Bulgaria Nathaniel Copsey pointed out some advantages of the current Bulgarian economy such as: being the fastest growing economy in the European Union (EU) in the past 10 years (according to Eurostat data), the state budget balance is guaranteed, the unemployment rate is low, and inflation is controlled.
Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev presented some of the Ministry's achievements in recent times, contributing to creating a favorable business environment for enterprises, notably: progress in the process of joining the Eurozone and OECD; amending laws to implement the EU's Development Recovery Plan; accelerating judicial reform to protect the rights of whistleblowers, better serving the work of preventing and fighting corruption; digitizing many administrative procedures; removing Bulgaria from the list of countries involved in money laundering...
Mr. Georgi Georgiev affirmed that the Bulgarian government continues to focus on building a favorable legal corridor for businesses with specific policies such as: updating regulations on human resources, regulations requiring administrative agencies to communicate with judicial agencies through the e-government system; building a Law on lobbying, amending the Law on anti-money laundering...

Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Doncho Barbalov said that Bulgaria is currently a potential economic partner and investment destination. Bulgaria's accession to Schengen is creating favorable conditions for businesses to connect with the European common market. In the first 4 months of 2025 alone, Bulgaria recorded a total foreign direct investment (FDI) of 1.12 billion Euros, an increase of 27.5% over the same period.
Mr. Doncho Barbalov affirmed that investing enterprises can trust in Bulgaria's consistent policy of strengthening a sustainable and competitive business environment; said that the national network of Bulgaria's industrial zones is prioritizing investment in modern, digital infrastructure, energy efficiency with high-quality human resources.
The discussion sessions also saw the participation of representatives from several ministries, such as Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolay Pavlov and Director of the Investment Agency Mila Nenova. The delegates focused on the economic situation in Bulgaria and the advantages and difficulties that Bulgarian businesses have experienced in 2024 and the first half of 2025. The delegates agreed that Bulgaria's business environment has recently shown many positive signs as Bulgaria officially joined the Schengen area on January 1, 2025 and is preparing to join the Eurozone in early 2026.
Enterprises attending the meeting expressed their wish that Ambassadors and heads of international representative agencies in Bulgaria would act as a bridge for Bulgarian enterprises to find international partners and customers and reach out to the world market.
Appreciating the achievements of the Bulgarian government in recent times, especially in the process of joining the Eurozone and OECD, the Ambassadors and heads of representative offices of international organizations in Bulgaria reviewed the support and business connection activities that have been implemented and pledged to create favorable conditions and provide maximum support to connect businesses, contributing to promoting Bulgaria's economic and trade relations with other countries.
