On July 5, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh presented her credentials to President of Estonia Alar Karis in Tallinn, Republic of Estonia.
Immediately after the ceremony, the Ambassador had an audience with the President of Estonia. President Alar Karis congratulated Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Estonia and sent her regards to the senior leaders of Vietnam.
President Alar Karis shared Estonia's achievements in economic and social development, especially in digitalization and e-government building, and said that cooperation between Vietnam and Estonia has achieved many encouraging results, the two sides actively support each other at multilateral forums and the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large.
Announcing that he will soon send a trade representative from Estonia to Vietnam, President Alar Karis expressed his confidence in the prospects for trade and investment between the two countries to grow in the coming time. The President also shared the world and regional situation, especially the recent conflicts and tensions affecting the two countries.
President Alar Karis wished Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh an excellent completion of her term of office, contributing to promoting the good traditional friendship between the two countries.

For her part, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh expressed her honor to be appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Estonia, congratulated Estonia's achievements, especially in leading fields such as e -government , digital transformation, etc., and affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperative relations with the Baltic countries, especially Estonia, and hopes that the two sides will exchange high-level delegations in the coming time.
Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh shared with President Alar Karis about Vietnam's socio-economic development and foreign policy, sincerely thanking Estonia for always supporting and coordinating with Vietnam both bilaterally and at multilateral forums, including the active cooperation between the two countries at the Security Council as a non-permanent member for the 2020-2021 term, actively supporting the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and being one of the first member states to ratify the Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) between Vietnam and the European Union (EU).
Estonia’s early establishment of a trade representative in Vietnam will be a positive signal for trade and investment between the two countries in the coming time. The Ambassador expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation in areas where Estonia has strengths such as digitalization, building e-government and smart cities, as well as promoting economic cooperation to take advantage of the benefits that EVFTA and EVIPA bring.
Inheriting the achievements of 30 years of diplomatic relations nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries, Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh pledged to make efforts to develop the relationship between the two countries positively, continuously expand, and promote many potentials and available advantages to serve the interests of the people of the two countries.
Previously, the Ambassador presented a copy of his Letter of Credence to Director of Protocol Urmas Eigla and discussed with Ms. Kristi Karelsohn, Director of the Asia-Pacific-Middle East-Africa Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, on bilateral and international cooperation issues of mutual interest and the focus of cooperation in the coming time.
Ambassador Pham Thi Thanh Binh reiterated Minister Bui Thanh Son's invitation to the Estonian Foreign Minister to visit Vietnam during a phone call on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in April 2022.
