Canadian Embassy supports Cao Bang people to overcome natural disaster consequences

On October 16, a delegation from the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam led by Ms. Leigh McCumber, Political Counselor, visited and implemented the project "Emergency support for communities affected by typhoon Yagi" in Ha Quang district and Trung Khanh district.


  The delegation of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam presented support to the people of Cao Bang to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

At the program, Ms. Leigh McCumber, representing the Government of Canada in Vietnam, expressed her deep sympathy to the people of Cao Bang province for the damage caused by storm No. 3. Wishing to share some of those losses and difficulties, the Government of Canada has supported Vietnam with 650,000 Canadian dollars (CAD), of which, supporting Cao Bang province with 50,000 CAD (equivalent to more than 900 million VND) through the Embassy's "Canada Fund for Local Initiatives".

Representatives of the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam presented Ha Quang and Trung Khanh districts with 2 rescue boats, 4 generators, 23 100-liter water tanks for people in the communes and gifts of blankets, mosquito nets, emergency kits, etc. to support people affected by floods.
