Implementing the Plan to organize Party congresses at all levels towards the National Congress of Delegates of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , on April 25, the Party Committee of the Washington DC region (USA) solemnly held the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Nguyen Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of the country, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States; comrade Tran Thi Thu Huong, member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the country, and 30 delegates who are party members representing more than 60 party members of 6 branches under the Party Committee.

On behalf of the Presidium, Comrade Nguyen Thuy Hong, Secretary of the Washington DC Regional Party Committee, Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy in the United States, presented a Political Report highlighting the positive results in all aspects of the Party Committee during the past term, and at the same time proposed work directions for the 2025-2030 term.

The Party Committee's political report stated that in the past term, with solidarity, promoting collective strength and the principle of democratic centralism, the Washington DC Party Committee overcame all difficulties, handled a large volume of professional work with high intensity, and effectively implemented the contents of the Congress Resolution for the 2020-2025 term.

The Washington DC regional Party Committee always thoroughly grasps the Party's guidelines and policies, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the annual action programs of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the action program to implement the results of diplomatic conferences, closely follows the action program of the Party Committee in the United States and the action plan of the regional Party Committee to lead the subordinate Party cells to carry out activities in the area, ensuring the successful implementation of foreign affairs tasks, contributing to the development of the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership and then the Vietnam-US comprehensive strategic partnership.

Overcoming unprecedented challenges at the beginning of the term from the Covid-19 pandemic, Party cells and units in the Vietnamese diplomatic representative agency in the Washington DC area have closely coordinated, proactively developed plans, proposed initiatives and successfully completed common foreign affairs tasks at high and all levels, bilaterally and multilaterally.

The Party Committee has directed the Embassy Party Cell to act as the core, and other Party Cells to coordinate in actively and proactively connecting and creating solidarity with overseas Vietnamese, mobilizing and promoting the resources of the Vietnamese community abroad, contributing to the development of the country.

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, the Washington DC regional Party Committee will strive to successfully implement the resolution of the 14th National Party Congress on foreign affairs and national development, while proactively and actively maintaining the momentum of cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In addition, the Party Committee will strengthen coordination in work, creating high solidarity and unity within the Party Committee to effectively carry out the political tasks assigned by the unit and the superior Party Committee.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Nguyen Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States, acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Washington Regional Party Committee in recent times, especially in the context of many fluctuations in the local and world situations.

Comrade Nguyen Quoc Dung assigned the Party Committee of the Washington DC area to continue to improve coordination with the leaders of the representative agency, do a good job of advising the Party Committee, and contribute to the successful completion of the unit's political tasks.

At the Congress, representatives of affiliated Party cells gave speeches and contributed many enthusiastic opinions to the draft documents of Party congresses at all levels, highly agreeing with the direction and goals of the Party Committee in the new term.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Washington DC regional Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 5 comrades with strong political qualities, professional capacity and a high sense of responsibility.
