On May 21, at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Rwanda, Kigali, Ms. Vu Thanh Huyen, Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Republic of Tanzania and concurrently to the Republic of Rwanda, presented her credentials to President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame.
In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen conveyed to President Paul Kagame the respectful greetings and best wishes of health fromPresident Luong Cuong.
The Ambassador expressed his great honor to be entrusted by the Party and State of Vietnam with the important responsibility of being Ambassador to Rwanda - a country with great potential and an increasingly important role in the East African region.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Ambassador affirmed that he will do his best to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Rwanda in the fields of economy , trade, agriculture and education.
On the occasion of the two countries' 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (September 30, 1975 - September 30, 2025), the Ambassador proposed that the two sides soon appoint Honorary Consuls in each country to facilitate bilateral cooperation in the context of no permanent representative agency, while also playing an effective role as a bridge in exchange, cooperation and community connection.

Warmly congratulating Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen on her new position, President Paul Kagame affirmed that Rwanda always values the good friendship and cooperation with Vietnam.
President Paul Kagame expressed his impression of the positive cooperation results between the two countries in recent times, and believed that the Ambassador would make practical contributions to developing bilateral relations more strongly and extensively in the coming time.

Previously, on May 20, at the ceremony to hand over a copy of the Letter of Credentials to Mr. Olivier JP Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen respectfully conveyed the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son to Minister Olivier JP Nduhungirehe.
Thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda for its thoughtful and respectful coordination in organizing the ceremony to present the Letter of Credence, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Rwanda, and at the same time suggested that the two countries continue to coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums.
On the same day, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen had a meeting with the Department of Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda. The two sides exchanged information on the directions of bilateral cooperation in the coming time, especially in areas with potential and strengths of each side.
During her working trip to Rwanda, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen had a friendly meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese community living and working here.
The Ambassador visited and encouraged the people, highly appreciated the spirit of solidarity and the community's contribution to fostering friendship between the two countries, and affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy is always a common home, ready to accompany and support the people in all aspects of life.
