General Phan Van Giang: Adding border posts and stations to suit mission requirements

On the morning of May 24, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , chaired a working conference with key leaders of the Border Guard Command.

General Phan Van Giang requested to study, adjust, and arrange additional border posts and stations in accordance with the requirements of the task of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security.

At the conference, Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Commander of the Border Guard, reported on the plan to arrange border posts, stations and the Border Guard Command under the provincial military command to meet the requirements of the task of managing and firmly protecting national border security and sovereignty in the new situation.

Based on the Project on building a "refined, compact, and strong" army and the task of deploying local military organization when organizing a two-level local government apparatus, the Border Guard Command has proactively coordinated with the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to study and draft a plan to arrange stations, stations, and suitable military positions, ensuring the task of managing and protecting national border security and sovereignty, and building a solid all-people border defense posture.

In his concluding remarks, General Phan Van Giang requested the General Staff to direct relevant agencies to coordinate with the Border Guard Command to continue to thoroughly review, develop plans, and urgently conduct field surveys to grasp the terrain and border security situation.

From there, research and adjust, arrange and supplement border posts and stations in accordance with the requirements of the task of managing and protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security, in accordance with the Party and State's policies on rearranging the apparatus of the political system, and reorganizing administrative units at all levels.

The Border Guard must continue to be the core force in firmly protecting sovereignty and border security; strengthen patrols and controls along the border, and effectively combat all types of crimes and illegal immigration.
