Brave police captain saves woman from committing suicide by jumping into river

Receiving news that someone had jumped off Ai Nghia bridge to commit suicide, Captain Nguyen Phuoc Dat quickly approached the scene, then jumped into the river to rescue the woman in time.

At around 5:30 p.m. on April 19, Ms. LTCU (40 years old, residing in Ai Nghia town, Dai Loc district, Quang Nam ) due to personal problems went to Ai Nghia bridge over Vu Gia river (in Ai Nghia town) and jumped into the river to commit suicide.

Receiving the news from the people, Captain Nguyen Phuoc Dat ( police officer of Ai Nghia town) nearby immediately went to the scene.

When he saw the victim in the water, Captain Dat jumped into the river to save him. Then, Captain Dat helped the victim to safety and gave him first aid.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Thao, Chief of Ai Nghia Town Police, it was initially determined that due to sadness over debt, Ms. U. went to Ai Nghia bridge with the intention of committing suicide.
