Dak Lak province has a natural area of more than 18,000 km2, 102 administrative units at commune and ward levels with a population of more than 3.3 million people.

Immediately after merging the two provinces of Dak Lak and Phu Yen (old) into the new Dak Lak province, along with stabilizing the organization, personnel, and operation of the two-level local government..., the provincial leaders paid special attention to travel, accommodation, and living for cadres, civil servants, and public employees from the old Phu Yen to work at the new Dak Lak Provincial Administrative Center.

The new Dak Lak province has a natural area of over 18,000 km2, with 102 administrative units at the commune and ward levels and a population of over 3.3 million people. The administrative center of the province is about 200 km from the center of the old Phu Yen province. Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Le Hung said that according to the initial plan, the total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the old Phu Yen province with housing needs is 1,664 people, of which the housing arrangement needs are 971 people and self-renting is 693 people.

However, after the province's merger, a part of the old Phu Yen province still worked at the second facility, so the number of people working at the new Dak Lak Provincial Administrative Center decreased compared to the beginning.

According to the Department of Home Affairs, as of July 10, the total number of cadres, civil servants and public employees from the old Phu Yen to work at the new Dak Lak Provincial Administrative Center was 698 people. In order to ensure accommodation, the province has directed the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to renovate and repair housing facilities and mobilize more dormitories of universities and colleges in the area to arrange accommodation for cadres, civil servants and public employees.

The housing facilities to be repaired and renovated include: Official residence No. 39-41 Tran Nhat Duat Street; Official residence No. 34H Thang Long Street; Provincial Party Committee Guest House; Provincial Political School; Dormitory of the Faculty of Medicine, Tay Nguyen University; Dormitory of Dak Lak Pedagogical College; Dormitory of Hanoi Law University Branch in Dak Lak... However, because the renovation and repair must follow bidding procedures according to regulations, it is expected to be completed from August 15 to early September.

In the immediate future, the province has arranged for 229 cadres and civil servants, including 96 comrades under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, to stay at the Biet Dien Hotel, the Trade Union Guesthouse, the Provincial Political School, the Nursing Home for Meritorious People, the Dormitory of the Provincial Pedagogical College, etc. to stabilize their accommodation and ensure their jobs. The Dormitory of the Faculty of Medicine, Tay Nguyen University alone has 120 rooms, and is expected to accommodate 174 cadres and civil servants.

However, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee is currently proposing that the Ministry of Education and Training transfer the work to the locality for repair and conversion of functions according to regulations. After receiving comments from the Ministry of Education and Training, the province will speed up the renovation and repair work and is expected to complete, arrange and arrange accommodation before August 30.

Regarding the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Guest House, on June 20, the province added the 2025 budget to repair and renovate the Provincial Party Committee Guest House into an official residence. Currently, the Provincial Party Committee Office is carrying out the repair process; proposing to convert the function to an official residence, expected to be completed by the end of August...

Currently, the route from the old Phu Yen province to the Dak Lak provincial administrative center is about 200 km long, mainly along National Highway 29, but due to the narrow road, many sections have degraded and damaged, making travel difficult, greatly affecting health and work efficiency...

Many cadres, civil servants and public employees, when working at the Provincial Administrative Center, proactively rented houses and started working right from the first days of the province's merger. Mr. Nguyen Kieu Hung worked at the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, and his wife, Ms. Trieu Thi Thanh Trinh, worked at the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of the former Phu Yen province. Right after the province's merger, the whole family moved to the center of Dak Lak province to work and proactively rented a house for 7 million VND/month to stabilize their accommodation, find a school for their children and focus on work.

Mr. Hung said: “When I returned to Dak Lak to work, I received enthusiastic support from my brothers, sisters, colleagues, from leaders to cadres, specialists of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, from finding a house, finding a school for my children, to going to the market, having breakfast... I personally felt the solidarity and attachment as if we were a family. When moving to a new place of residence and work, in the beginning, it was inevitable that there would be difficulties in terms of accommodation and living expenses. However, my wife and I have determined that wherever we go, we will work and be home, so we will spend economically to overcome the immediate difficulties.”

Similarly, Ms. Trinh Thi Huynh Han, working at the Dak Lak Department of Home Affairs, said that both husband and wife worked at agencies of the old Phu Yen province. When moving to the new province, they brought their children with them, rented a house near their workplace, found a place for their children to study, reduced the pressure of commuting, and ensured the best work...

Along with speeding up the renovation and repair of official houses to soon arrange accommodation for officials, civil servants and public employees returning from the old Phu Yen to work, Dak Lak province has also developed a policy to support travel and housing rental for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers returning to work at the Provincial Administrative Center.

Specifically, the travel support level is 2 million VND/person/month; housing rental support is 3 million VND/person/month and initial one-time support is 2 million VND/person, the support period is 12 months. In addition, in the long term, the province is synthesizing the need to register to buy social housing of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the province, especially those from the old Phu Yen province to work at the new provincial administrative center. Based on the registration needs, it is expected that by the end of 2025, the province will start construction of about 1,200 social housing units, meeting the accommodation needs of cadres, civil servants and public employees in the area.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hoa An said that currently, the provincial functional branches are making efforts to speed up the repair and renovation of official houses to arrange and allocate accommodation for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers from the old Phu Yen province to work at the Dak Lak Provincial Administrative Center as soon as possible and most conveniently.

Determining that the merger of provincial administrative units is a major policy of the Party and State, most cadres have a firm mindset and are prepared in advance. Therefore, even when changing their living location, working conditions or living environment, they maintain a steady mindset, proactively adapt, are ready to integrate and contribute.

At the same time, when coming here, being warmly welcomed, supported, helped and shared by the provincial leaders and officials, civil servants and employees of agencies and units of Dak Lak province in both work and life, everyone felt warm-hearted, quickly overcame difficulties, arranged accommodation and living, immediately got into the rhythm of work, joined hands and unanimously built a rich and beautiful Dak Lak province.
