Dak Lak: Racing against flood waters to support people

On November 21, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, went to Hoa Thinh commune (Dak Lak province) to survey and inspect heavily flooded residential areas and directed armed forces to actively support the people.

According to records, many areas of Hoa Thinh commune are still deeply flooded due to floodwaters, and functional forces have to work hard to rescue people in isolated areas. Heavy rains since the night of November 19 and strong water flows from Ba River and Ben Lai River have caused 15/17 villages to be isolated, landslides have occurred, causing many difficulties in evacuating people and transporting essential supplies.

Colonel Phan Dai Nghia has directed units under the Provincial Military Command, the Defense Command of Region 6 - Tuy Hoa, Regiment 888 and the Commune Military Command to coordinate with the police, departments, branches and organizations to focus on rescue, rescue and bring people out of the isolated area as soon as possible.

He asked forces to urgently race against floodwaters, promptly grasp support information from people and use rescue vehicles to ensure safety when moving through dangerous areas.

Up to now, the army and other units have evacuated more than 100 people from Hoa Thinh commune to Nguyen Thi Dinh School, and at the same time provided necessities to ensure their lives and prevent people from being deprived.
