Dak Nong passed a resolution to merge provinces and communes.

On the morning of April 26, Dak Nong Provincial People's Council held the 14th Thematic Session chaired by Comrade Luu Van Trung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council.

At the meeting, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Dak Nong province, Do Tan Suong, briefly presented the policy of merging and rearranging administrative units (ADUs) at the commune and provincial levels.

For commune-level administrative units, from 71 communes, wards and towns, Dak Nong province has arranged 28 commune-level administrative units, of which 68 units were merged, retaining 3 units including Quang Son commune, Quang Hoa commune (Dak Glong district) and Quang Truc commune (Tuy Duc district).

At the provincial level, Dak Nong province will merge with Lam Dong province and Binh Thuan province, taking the new name Lam Dong province, with the administrative center located in the current Lam Dong province.

After studying and reviewing the submission, the provincial People's Council delegates unanimously approved the Resolution on the arrangement and naming of commune-level administrative units and the policy of merging the province.
