Previously, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) sent a document requesting the People's Committee of Dak Nong province to resolve issues in compensation and site clearance at Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV.

According to TKV, the production, business and investment situation at Nhan Co alumina complex is facing many difficulties, especially the lack of a place to store sludge after bauxite ore selection.

Nhan Co Alumina Plant is at risk of having to stop production and lose dam safety before the rainy season due to slow progress in the second ore washing sludge reservoir.

The reason is that the No. 1 post-wash sludge reservoir is full and has no more storage capacity. Meanwhile, the No. 2 post-wash sludge reservoir dam project does not have a construction site due to major problems with site clearance.

From 2022 to present, the Nhan Co Alumina Plant Project Management Board - Vinacomin and the locality have actively and persistently propagated, mobilized, and persuaded people to reclaim land.

However, up to now, there are still 5 households that have not received the money and often obstructed construction activities, leading to project delays.

Dak Nong is directing to remove obstacles at the No. 2 post-ore washing sludge reservoir project at Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV before April 15, 2025.

Project to invest in the second post-washing sludge reservoir dam to maintain production at Nhan Co Alumina Factory in Bu Dop and Quang Son villages, Nghia Thang commune (Dak R'lap). The project was approved by the Dak R'lap District People's Committee for compensation, support and resettlement from 2022, with an area of ​​​​65,116 hectares and 64 households whose land was recovered.
