Linking to develop Lam Dong tourism commensurate with its potential and advantages

At Lavender Resort Da Lat, Lam Dong Tourism Association held a seminar on Connecting new tourism and travel businesses in Lam Dong province.

This is the first seminar held after the merger of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan , and Dak Nong, with the participation of Mr. Duong Quoc Anh - Director of Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, Ms. Duong Thi Hien - Deputy Head of Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong; and representatives of tourism associations and businesses in the whole province.

The event was held to discuss opportunities and challenges in the tourism sector after the three provinces were merged, and to seek solutions for sustainable tourism development in the future .

The seminar attracted the participation of many experts, travel businesses, tourism managers and related organizations. Delegates exchanged ideas, shared experiences and proposed solutions to improve the quality of tourism services, attract tourists and develop unique tourism products for each locality.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Dang Quoc Chinh, Chairman of Lam Dong Tourism Association, emphasized the importance of cooperation between units and businesses in tourism development.

“This merger not only creates opportunities for tourism development but also poses a big challenge for us. We need to work together to build a comprehensive tourism development strategy, maximizing the potential of each locality,” Mr. Dang Quoc Chinh emphasized.

During the discussion, delegates discussed many issues such as developing tourism infrastructure, improving service quality, promoting the tourism image of the new Lam Dong, as well as building tourism products linking localities. Some opinions also proposed organizing joint cultural, sports and tourism events to attract tourists and create connections between regions.

In particular, the seminar took time to listen to opinions from travel businesses about the difficulties they are facing in their operations and the opportunities ahead. In addition, the seminar also mentioned the application of information technology in the management and development of green tourism and high-end resort tourism. Delegates discussed the construction of online platforms to promote tourism, provide information to tourists and facilitate tour and hotel bookings.

At the end of the discussion, delegates agreed to continue to maintain meetings to monitor the progress of implementing proposed solutions, while creating a close cooperation network between provinces in the tourism sector.

Mr. Duong Quoc Anh, Director of Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, shared about tourism promotion opportunities in the new situation and emphasized that building a tourism development linkage strategy not only helps to enhance the tourism value of each region but also contributes to promoting the socio-economic development of the whole province.

The seminar marked an important milestone and demonstrated the determination of tourism agencies and units in finding a way to link tourism development in the new Lam Dong province right after the decision to establish and come into operation was announced. Lam Dong Tourism Association committed to continue to accompany businesses and local authorities in tourism development, creating attractive and quality tourism products, meeting the increasing needs of tourists.

Lam Dong - Binh Thuan - Dak Nong are three localities with a fairly developed tourism industry and are gradually becoming a key economic sector. Therefore, after the merger, the tourism industry is expected to develop dramatically with the unique potential and strengths of each locality.

In particular, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan before the merger had affirmed their position, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists with about 10 million visitors in 2024, contributing to the socio-economic growth of the locality.

This is the connection between two typical destinations of the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast, with the goal of building a diverse, classy and distinct entertainment - recreation - tourism cluster, contributing to making tourism a key economic sector of the region after the merger. At the same time, seek opportunities to develop satellite locations in Dak Nong, in order to form a synchronous and developed tourism service chain.
