Lam Dong won the Excellent Collective Award in the 5th Political Contest to Protect the Party's Ideological Foundation

On the evening of October 22, in Hanoi, the Award Ceremony of the 5th Political Contest to Protect the Party's Ideological Foundation in 2025 was solemnly organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in coordination with central agencies, honoring collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Attending the ceremony were Comrade Luong Cuong, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35; along with comrades of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee; representatives of central and local departments, ministries, branches and authors, groups of authors and award-winning units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35, Head of the Competition Steering Committee, emphasized: This year's competition was launched early, right after the 4th Award Ceremony (October 20, 2024).

On February 6, 2025, the Competition Steering Committee held a press conference to announce the plan, rules and officially launched it nationwide.

Immediately after that, the provincial, municipal and central party committees proactively led and directed the synchronous and extensive implementation from the central to grassroots levels.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang said that many major press and media agencies at the central and local levels, along with the grassroots information system, have actively promoted, encouraged, and disseminated information about the Contest continuously and effectively. Some localities and units have also proactively organized training for core staff to improve the quality of participating works.

This year's contest has special significance, marking the 5-year journey of continuous organization, demonstrating the strong influence, steadfastness and effectiveness in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; especially in the context that the entire Party and people are actively preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of Delegates.

The organizers awarded prizes to the youngest authors participating in the contest.

The highlight of this year's Contest is its outstanding scale and reach, with nearly 542,000 entries nationwide, an increase of more than 73,000 entries compared to 2024. The entries are in 5 categories: print, magazine, radio, television and video clip.

After the grassroots round, localities and units sent more than 4,600 works to the Central level, including nearly 1,900 magazine works, more than 1,500 press works, 185 television works and more than 100 video clips.

From the preliminary results, the Council selected 378 excellent works for the final round, including 140 magazine works, 134 press works, 39 radio works, 37 television works and 28 video clip works.

Notably, this year's Competition also attracted 21 works from international authors from China, Laos, Italy and Sweden; these works were reviewed, evaluated and classified separately by the Jury Council to award prizes according to annual rules.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Contest is a practical activity, contributing to strongly spreading the spirit and responsibility of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views, arousing patriotism, national pride, and aspirations for development.

In particular, the Contest takes place in the context of the country entering a new historical development stage, with many strategic policies and resolutions of the Politburo being issued; the arrangement, streamlining of the apparatus and operation of the two-level local government achieving positive results.

The entire Party, people and army are actively organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress, and at the same time preparing to celebrate important milestones: 50 years of Southern Liberation and National Reunification; 80 years of August Revolution and National Day September 2.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 20 Outstanding Collective prizes to units and localities with outstanding achievements in organizing the Contest at the grassroots and central levels; at the same time, awarded 137 individual and collective prizes, including 12 A prizes, 23 B prizes, 36 C prizes and 66 Encouragement prizes.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also honored outstanding senior and young authors and awarded 20 Promising prizes to union members and youth with high-quality entries.

For Lam Dong province, the Organizing Committee of the Competition awarded the Excellent Collective Prize to the provincial unit. In the individual category, Lam Dong won 1 C prize, 2 Encouragement prizes and 1 Promising prize. In particular, reporter Than Thu Hien, Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television with the work "Vietnamese spirit in the sacred soul of the nation" (3 episodes) was honored to win the Encouragement prize at the 5th Political Contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation in 2025.
