This is one of the important events in the series of events for the International Traditional Craft Village Preservation and Development Festival 2025, scheduled to be held in mid-November 2025 in Hanoi .

According to the Organizing Committee, after six months of launching, the competition attracted 328 works and sets of works from 175 individuals, artisans, and skilled craftsmen, including 33 outstanding artisans and 148 individuals and skilled craftsmen. The Organizing Committee, the Judging Panel, and members of the Competition Support Team worked diligently and impartially, and have so far selected 125 works to award prizes, including: 5 First Prizes, 15 Second Prizes, 25 Third Prizes, 30 Consolation Prizes, and 50 Special Prizes.

The winning works fall into 5 categories: rattan, bamboo, leaves, and sedge; lacquerware, mother-of-pearl inlay, shell, and wood carving; ceramics and glass; textiles and embroidery; and other categories: stone sculpture, metalwork, floral art, paintings, etc.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment, Nguyen Dinh Hoa, emphasized that the competition aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values and identity of craft villages; to promote craft villages in conjunction with tourism, in an environmentally friendly manner, creating jobs and increasing income for the people. Thereby, contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of rural areas.
Through this competition, the agricultural sector hopes to support, create a platform, and encourage numerous artisans, skilled craftsmen, and businesses in craft villages in Hanoi to develop new ideas and create works with high creativity, technical and artistic value, and practical application, meeting the needs of domestic and international markets.

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment hopes that ministries and agencies, especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, will continue to create favorable conditions for Hanoi's craft village businesses to coordinate, link, and exchange trade promotion with provinces and cities nationwide; expand consumption markets, enhance product value, and meet the needs of domestic and international markets…

At the Award Ceremony and Recognition of the Hanoi City Traditional Craft Village Products Competition 2025, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment presented Certificates of Commendation to 18 individuals who had made positive contributions to the organization of the competition.
The five products that won first prize are: the "Woven Rattan Box" set (3 products) by author Nguyen Van Vinh, Phu Vinh village, Phu Nghia commune; the "Lotus Flower Tea Tray" by author Nguyen Duc Biet, Ngo village, Chuyen My commune; the "Ceramic Flower Lamp" by author Pham Hong Vinh, 173C Quang Trung, Ha Dong ward; the "First-Class Mother Goddess Altar" by author Nguyen Van Chung, Dong Cuu village, Thuong Phuc commune; and the "Traditional to Modern Kite" by author Nguyen Van Quyet, Cluster 8 Hong Ha, O Dien commune.
