Ensuring absolute safety for students and teachers before storm No. 4

This is the content of the telegram dated September 19 sent by the Ministry of Education and Training to 17 provinces and cities on proactively responding to the tropical depression, which is likely to strengthen into a storm.

On September 19, the Minister of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 1225/CD-BGDDT to the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of the provinces and cities of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh , Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa on proactively responding to tropical depressions that are likely to strengthen into storms.

The dispatch stated: According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the tropical depression has crossed Ludong Island (Philippines) into the eastern sea of the northern East Sea. The tropical depression is forecast to move westward at a speed of 20km/h towards the Hoang Sa archipelago and is likely to strengthen into a storm in the next 24 hours; the storm may directly affect the sea and mainland of our country, causing strong gusts of wind and heavy rain in the Central Central and North Central regions in the coming days.

To be proactive and flexible in responding to the storm, ensuring absolute safety for students, teachers and staff in theeducation sector, the Minister of Education and Training requested the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities to urgently and closely monitor the storm's developments; be on duty 24/7; regularly update information from functional agencies, rescue forces and local authorities to have timely response plans.

Develop a plan to move assets, machinery, equipment, and furniture to a safe location, ensuring that they are not damaged or broken. Ensure that schools and educational institutions do not organize extracurricular activities in coastal areas and areas at risk of being affected by storms.

Consider cancelling school when necessary, especially in areas vulnerable to storms. Ensure that information about school schedules and student safety is fully communicated to parents.

Immediately after the storm, organize cleaning of schools, repair damage to facilities, ensure safety and hygiene before welcoming students back to school.

Continuously update information, summarize damage and develop a plan to report to the Provincial People's Committee for remediation, and at the same time report to the Ministry of Education and Training to summarize and report to the Government .
