In order to better serve the demand for cash withdrawals through the ATM system during Tet, credit institutions in the area have prepared resources and cash to smoothly supply funds to ATMs and CDMs across the province.

Mr. Le Viet Quyen, Director of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) Hau Giang branch, said: In order to better serve the ATM/CDM system during the Lunar New Year 2024, the unit has directed the functional departments and affiliated branches to strengthen inspection and supervision of operations, meeting the needs of cash deposits and withdrawals at ATMs/CDMs. Proactively develop a plan to replenish ATM/CDM funds, prepare resources and cash to replenish ATM/CDM funds, maintain the ATM/CDM User fund limit at an appropriate level at each time, increase the frequency of replenishment, assign staff to support customers during the holiday to ensure maximum satisfaction of cash deposits and withdrawals at ATMs/CDMs of customers inside and outside the system.
In case the ATM/CDM runs out of money, has low funds or receives a notification from the Card Center via SMS about the ATM/CDM having low funds or equipment errors, the branch must promptly replenish funds and fix the problem/error to put the ATM/CDM back into operation as soon as possible. At the same time, regularly check and monitor the operation of ATMs/CDMs directly managed by the branch to proactively detect and promptly handle technical problems and equipment errors, ensuring the ATM/CDM system operates stably, continuously and smoothly, serving customers 24/7. The branch registers a phone number to receive notifications for newly installed ATMs and accepts ATM transfers from other branches. Check, review, and update the phone number registered for notification of remaining funds and ATM/CDM errors via SMS to ensure compliance with the ATM Management Board and staff assigned to monitor remaining funds and ATM/CDM errors.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuc, Deputy Director of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Sacombank ) Hau Giang, in order to better serve the needs of customers withdrawing cash at ATMs, Sacombank Hau Giang has prepared a monitoring force and sufficient cash to promptly replenish funds for ATMs of the Sacombank Hau Giang system. In addition, to implement the State's policy of limiting cash payments and encouraging customers to pay through apps or scan codes, during the 2024 Lunar New Year, Sacombank also deployed program solutions. Specifically, integrating multi-function QR codes right on POS machines helps optimize the payment process for stores, while providing diverse, easy and fast payment options for customers.
Accordingly, customers can choose to pay with a variety of payment sources, from international payment cards/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay) to domestic payment cards/accounts of banks in the Napas system. At the same time, it helps stores have more payment methods, cashiers can verify transactions instantly, shorten payment waiting time, improve customer experience as well as increase sales.
In the payment acceptance segment, in addition to the POS system of up to 170,000 machines nationwide, Sacombank is also a pioneer in providing and continuously upgrading modern payment methods such as Tap to Phone, NFC, QR Code, Samsung Pay, Google Pay or Apple Pay to bring flexible and seamless payment experiences to all customers.

In order to ensure security, order and safety of banking operations, Mr. Ho La Thanh, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Hau Giang branch, said: The State Bank has issued a document directing credit institution branches in the area to strengthen the implementation of security and order work for the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
Continue to strictly implement regulations on treasury safety, cash operations, and crime prevention and control in the monetary and banking sector. Coordinate with relevant units in attacking and suppressing crimes, ensuring security and order for the 2024 Lunar New Year in the province. According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Hau Giang branch, the province has 90 ATMs of credit institution branches in operation and 467 POS machines installed. The number of cards issued is 434,429, credit institutions have integrated many features into bank cards to use for paying electricity, water, telecommunication, insurance, transportation fees, and online payments.
