In August 2013, the film Tro doi by director Pham Nhue Giang was released to the audience. The film's script was based on the work So do , the details and stories were extracted from famous reports by writer Vu Trong Phung, such as Nghi nghe la Tay, Com thay com co ... recreating a vivid picture of Vietnamese society before 1945.
The film brings together a number of famous actors, such as: People's Artist Minh Hang, People's Artist Quoc Anh, Chien Thang, Meritorious Artist Quang Thang, Viet Bac, Bao Thanh... leaving many impressions on viewers. After 10 years since Tro Doi aired, the film's cast still receives attention from the audience.
People's Artist Minh Hang
People's Artist Minh Hang was born in 1961 in Hanoi , is a veteran actress of Vietnamese theater and cinema. In the movie Tro Doi , Minh Hang plays Kiem - a country girl who was humiliated by a black Westerner in the middle of the field - leaving the village to go to the city to marry a Westerner. From a simple country girl, Kiem gradually becomes a debauched lady but hides under the guise of a civilized person.

People's Artist Minh Hang worked at the Youth Theater until her retirement. After retirement, she still participated in film projects.
In March 2021, People's Artist Minh Hang's husband passed away after a long illness. His passing left the actress extremely sad and in pain.
In April of the same year, People's Artist Minh Hang had to bid farewell to her biological father who passed away due to old age and poor health. After a series of events, the actress lived a private life for a while.
Receiving encouragement from her family and colleagues, People's Artist Minh Hang has now returned to work. Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about her current life, People's Artist Minh Hang said that since her retirement, she mainly lives in a garden house in the suburbs of Hanoi. After the events, she has regained balance and lives more positively.
"My spirit is more comfortable, no longer depressed and sad like the first time when my husband was away. After my husband passed away, I "realized" many things. I think, meeting each other in this life, being husband and wife is fate, let's treat each other well when we are together, so that when unfortunately one person passes away first, we won't regret the things we did to each other," she said.
She also surprised many people when she proactively prepared for her "departure": "A long time ago, I bought land in Lac Hong Vien ( Hoa Binh ) so that if anything happened to me, I could rest there. It is a plot of land on a high hill, with a beautiful view. Standing there, people do not feel like they are in a cemetery but think they are on a mountain looking down on the plain.
My family also reserved a spot at the temple. When I bought land at the cemetery, I also booked a post-death care service for up to 50 years. If my children and grandchildren abroad cannot return in time, the grave will still be carefully taken care of. I think it's good to be proactive like that."
People's Artist Quoc Anh
In Tro doi , People's Artist Quoc Anh plays the role of Mr. Hong - the father of Van Minh. He likes to learn the Western civilized lifestyle, is naive in his behavior, only likes opium and nods to everything, as long as no one bothers him.
People's Artist Quoc Anh has just retired from the Hanoi Cheo Theater for a year. While in office, he was the Deputy Director of the theater. He still regularly performs comedy, especially folk comedy. People's Artist Quoc Anh is famous for his role as Ly Lac in the Tet comedy film.
Even after retirement, he is still busy with acting and comedy. He said that as he gets older, he is always selective about his shows. He works because of his passion, and if there is a good script, he will accept it.
"I am comfortable and satisfied with my job, but I always have to think this in my head: At this age, I am not allowed to make mistakes or say "if only" anymore. Because if I am over 60 and still have "if only" there will be no chance to do it again. However, I always give my all to my job," he shared.
Despite having been married twice, People's Artist Quoc Anh still has no children. He once shared that he was childless because when he was young, he had lymph nodes and had to have surgery.
"There were times when I fell into despair, but thinking about the doctor's words about the disease with a survival rate of only about 1/10,000, I told myself I was very lucky," he said.
Artist Chien Thang
In the film, Chien Thang plays Van Minh - the son of Mr. Hong. This character is ignorant but likes to preach and imitate the Western lifestyle.
Artist Chien Thang used to work at the Military Command of Ha Giang Province, then transferred to the Art Troupe of the Border Guard Command. However, after many changes, he is now a freelance artist.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Chien Thang said that he was lucky to be loved by his ancestors, so he received many invitations to perform. There were days when he did not have time to eat, so he prepared food in the car, stopped at red lights or just parked the car temporarily on the side of the road to eat because he did not have much time.
"I do not deny that I am an artist who has many shows in the North. There are months when I work up to 25 days a week, without having time to eat with my wife and children. One person, one car, I go to the provinces to serve the people.
During wedding season, there are days when I run 4 shows. Luckily, I am healthy so I can arrange my schedule to run to different provinces reasonably, ensuring the program for the homeowner," he said.
Currently, Chien Thang is happy with his third wife.
Actor Viet Bac
Viet Bac plays the role of Xuan Toc Do - a teenager who started out as a street drug seller, tennis ball boy, became a Westernized tailor, then a tennis talent, Doctor Xuan. Xuan Toc Do gradually rose in life thanks to depraved "ladies" and fake "gentlemen".

Talking about the role of Xuan Toc Doi in the movie Tro Doi , Viet Bac confided: "I feel happy to have a role of a lifetime like Xuan Toc Do. Whenever the audience mentions Xuan Toc Do, they mention me. However, when I have had roles of a lifetime, I still want to participate in other roles, even if they are supporting but still have their own identity."
Viet Bac is currently an actor at the People's Police Drama Theater. He regularly participates in roles on stage and television.
When asked: "Can you make a living with acting?", Viet Bac said: "I only have enough to eat and wear, but I'm not rich. I'm not destined to do Youtube or TikTok, so my income is just like that. I'm not sad because I believe in "the more you earn, the more you earn". If you work hard, you will have it.
Currently, he has a happy family with his wife and son. He believes that family is always the most peaceful place, so he and his wife always strive to keep the family peaceful.
Actress Bao Thanh
