Speaking at the opening of the Congress, comrade Le Quoc Phong emphasized: “Over the past 5 years, the Military Party Committees of the two provinces of Tien Giang and Dong Thap (now Dong Thap province) have continuously promoted the tradition of solidarity, democracy, discipline, responsibility, proactively overcome difficulties, proposed effective measures to lead the implementation resolutely and creatively, and successfully completed the tasks and targets set out in the Resolution of the Provincial Military Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term”.

During the past term, the Dong Thap Provincial Military Party Committee focused on leading and directing the implementation of national defense, local military, and border work, achieving quite comprehensive results.

Notably, 14/15 contents achieved and exceeded the targets set by the Congress Resolution; the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command proactively coordinated with departments, branches, sectors and socio-political organizations to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct the good implementation of local defense and military tasks and border work.

Despite many difficulties and challenges after the merger, the Party Committee and the Military Command of Dong Thap province always uphold the spirit of solidarity, unified leadership, direction, and stabilization of the organization and staff, implementation of local defense and military tasks, and border work, initially achieving many important results; combat readiness work, regular construction, logistics - engineering, finance; science and technology, digital transformation, administrative reform, and defense diplomacy have achieved positive results.

Party and political activities closely follow reality; cadres and soldiers have firm political will; Party organizations are built to be clean, strong and exemplary; the provincial armed forces are built to be comprehensively strong, "exemplary and exemplary", meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Dong Thap Provincial Military Party Committee will focus on leading the implementation of a number of key political tasks such as: 100% of officers and soldiers are ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks; 90% or more complete tasks well; the rate of common disciplinary violations is below 0.2%; striving for no serious disciplinary violations; ensuring absolute safety in activities.

Build forces, ensure the ratio of party members in the militia and self-defense force is in accordance with the law and the prescribed projects; military recruitment and enrollment work reaches 100% of the target; 100% of commune-level military command officers meet the prescribed standards.

Every year, strive for 100% of party organizations, party members, and cadres to complete their tasks or better, of which 90% will complete their tasks well or excellently; party members will complete their tasks well at 95% or more. By 2030, 100% of key cadres at all levels will have a university degree or higher.

The Provincial Military Party Committee also proposed breakthroughs such as: Improving the quality of training to meet the situation and requirements of the provincial armed forces; improving the quality of regular construction, compliance with discipline and law, promoting the cultural values of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period; promoting the application of science and technology, digital transformation, military administrative reform, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership and command.
