Wildlife lovers in Singapore have captured high-definition footage of a king cobra devouring a python on a trail in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
Sam Mason, 45, discovered the two wild reptiles at around 5pm on August 18.
His wife, Julie Mason, 42, shared a photo of the rare encounter on the Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook page, leaving many other nature lovers in awe.
"Anyone else witness this battle in Macritchie today?", the caption read.
King cobra won the 'battle'
Speaking to MS News, Julie shared that her husband accidentally discovered two snakes while walking on the trail.
Julie added that she has always been "fascinated" by wild snakes and takes the time to observe them whenever she comes across them.
“It was great to see snakes in the wild and observe them from a safe distance,” she said.

Julie's husband also filmed the scene, showing the full length of the large king cobra lurking among the fallen leaves.
The clip and photo both show the python wrapped tightly around the cobra's head, while the cobra tries to escape the large snake's grip.
Another nature lover, Tan Yi, 42, also captured a 19-second clip of the scene.
Mr Tan told MS News that he was walking along the trail with his daughter when a passerby, presumably Ms Julie, heard him tell her that “it would be great” if they saw snakes there. Ms Julie then warned them of the “battle”.
Mr. Tan’s clip shows a close-up of the python and the cobra entwined, with the python’s body visibly constricting as it confronts the king cobra. At the end of the clip, the python’s body can be seen constricting violently once more.
“This is a unique experience,” said Mr Tan, adding that he had encountered a king cobra during his military days.
Julie told MS News that the king cobra won the "battle" when it eventually dragged the python into the forest.
Netizens amazed by rare sight
After seeing the post, many Facebook users were extremely surprised by the giant size of the king cobra.
Others commented that it was "scary" to come across such "dangerous" snakes in the wild.
All in all, nature lovers praised Julie's husband's luck in discovering this rare encounter.
