6 billion VND to award "Solid Future" scholarships to students

On March 20 in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organized a signing ceremony for cooperation with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam ( Vietcombank ) for the period 2023 - 2027 and launched the "Solid Future" scholarship.

The cooperation program includes: Focusing on organizing gift-giving and scholarship activities for students with especially difficult circumstances and excellent academic achievements, actively participating in movements and activities of the Youth Union, Student Association and Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers; Deploying communication and widely propagating the cooperation activities between the two sides on the communication channels, social networks of the two sides, local mass media; Coordinating the provision of Vietcombank's products and services to affiliated youth union chapters and union members, students in each locality if they have a need to use Vietcombank's services.

One of the specific contents of the cooperation agreement between the two units is: assigning the Vietnam Student Support and Development Fund to implement the "Solid Future" scholarship with a total budget of 6 billion VND in 2023 for students nationwide, targeting those in particularly difficult circumstances and talents such as valedictorians, achieving high results in exams, and movement activities of the Union and Association, and divided into 2 types of scholarships: Type A: 40 scholarships worth 80,000,000 VND/scholarship, disbursed at 20,000,000 VND/year and maximum within 04 years); Type B: 560 scholarships worth 5,000,000 VND/scholarship.

At the signing ceremony, Vietcombank representatives also presented a scholarship symbol to 1,000 “Thousand Good Deed Heroes”, worth more than 1.5 billion VND. This scholarship will be awarded at the 60th anniversary of the “Thousand Good Deeds” movement jointly organized by the Central Youth Union, the Central Council of Young Pioneers and the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province on March 24.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy expressed that the signing ceremony took place at a very meaningful time when the whole country is actively implementing activities of Youth Month.

“The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has received the responsible sharing of Vietcombank in implementing scholarship programs and providing meaningful support for disadvantaged students and excellent students across the country. I believe and expect that the cooperation of the two units will bring not only material values but above all, spreading humanistic meanings, giving students more strength to overcome challenges, confidently study, practice, dream and build the homeland,” said the First Secretary./.
