After a 1-0 win in the first leg at the Emirates thanks to Ousmane Dembele's only goal, PSG continued to defeat Arsenal 2-1 at the Parc des Princes in the early morning of May 8. Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi scored for the home team, while Bukayo Saka only managed to bring home a consolation goal for the "Gunners" in the 76th minute.
With this victory, PSG reached the Champions League final for the second time in history, after the first time in 2020 (losing to Bayern Munich). The French capital team will face Inter Milan in Munich, after the Serie A representative defeated Barcelona in the semi-finals.
PSG won Ligue 1 last month and now stand a chance of securing a treble if they beat Reims in the Coupe de France final on May 24, before taking on Inter a week later.
Speaking after the match, coach Luis Enrique could not hide his joy and humorously responded to the nickname "farmers' league" often given to Ligue 1:
“We are a farmers' league, right? But it's great. We are enjoying the results and the praise for the team's spirit and the way we play," he told TNT Sports.
Despite praising Arsenal's performance, coach Luis Enrique insisted PSG deserved to advance: "Arsenal played very well and put us under a lot of pressure. But after two matches, we scored more goals. That's the most important thing."

The Spanish coach especially praised goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who made many important saves to help PSG overcome strong opponents.
“How can you win the Champions League without a good goalkeeper? Gigi was fantastic today, like every game. And you can't win the Champions League without a good defence. They were fantastic today too."
PSG had a rocky start, losing three of their first five group stage games. However, according to coach Luis Enrique, a 4-2 win over Man City in January was the turning point for the team.
“The game against Man City, when we were 0-2 down and then came back to win 4-2, was probably the turning point. If you look at the group stage statistics, we were among the strongest teams in Europe. We deserved to be in the final,” coach Luis Enrique shared. “This is something that means a lot. Everyone at the club dreams of the Champions League final. When we came to Paris, our goal was to make history and we are on the right track.”
