Famous musician - People's Artist Thanh Hai passed away

People's Artist Thanh Hai's real name is Nguyen Thanh Hai, born in 1957 in Hai Phong, in a family with an artistic tradition. From a young age, he showed musical talent and soon became attached to traditional music.

In 1976, he went to the South and studied with many famous musicians such as: Van Vi, Van Gioi, Nam Co, Hai Thom, People's Artist Vien Chau...

With the ability to skillfully play many musical instruments such as guitar, zither, monochord, leaf trumpet, violin, etc., he is known as the "master" of traditional music.

In 1978, he officially entered the professional cai luong theater scene, making his own mark by being able to play 8 musical instruments at the same time.

People's Artist Thanh Hai was in charge of music at many reformed opera troupes such as: City Cultural Troupe, Reformed Opera Troupe 2-84, Tran Huu Trang Theater. During the period 1980-1989, together with People's Artist Van Gioi, he was in charge of the reformed opera section of Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio Station, leaving behind many outstanding concerts such as: Vong Kim Lang , Phi Van Chorus , Lam Giang Short Song ...

Not only is he a famous musician behind the stage, he also participates in harmony, arrangement, and composition for many classic cai luong plays: To Anh Nguyet , Doi co Luu , Han Mac Tu , Lan va Diep , Trang hoa mai ... and contributes to bringing traditional music to international audiences through the program A O Show .

Throughout his life of diligently studying, preserving and creating, People's Artist Thanh Hai has left behind a valuable artistic heritage, contributing to the glory of national music, especially the Don ca tai tu and Cai luong genres of Southern Vietnam.

His passing is a great loss to the traditional art world and the public who love ancient music.
