Overview of the work of preserving and promoting the values of world cultural and natural heritage in Vietnam

On the morning of May 21, at the World Heritage Site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO in coordination with the UNESCO Office in Vietnam; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi People's Committee organized the International Scientific Conference "Protecting and promoting the values of World Heritage: Community-based approach for sustainable development".

The workshop was attended by the UNESCO Hanoi Office, leaders of central ministries and branches, People's Committees of localities owning heritage, world heritage management boards in Vietnam, experts and scientists in the fields of history, archaeology, conservation, museums, heritage...

The workshop is an event in a series of activities to implement the action plan for the period 2021 - 2025 of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the Memorandum of Understanding on Vietnam - UNESCO Cooperation for the period 2021 - 2025, and the Cultural Diplomacy Strategy.   by 2030 and the conclusions of the National Cultural Conference emphasizing the role of culture in serving local socio -economic development will take place in the coming time.
