Coach Mai Duc Chung and the coaching staff finalized the list of women's team participating in ASIAD 19.
Today (September 19), the Vietnamese women's team will leave for China to participate in the 19th ASIAD. Before departure, head coach Mai Duc Chung and his colleagues announced the official list of 22 athletes participating in this tournament.
Two members who will not continue to accompany the Vietnamese women's team at ASIAD 19 are striker Vu Thi Hoa and defender Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh.
Previously, in a friendly match with a team from Maritime University, striker Vu Thi Hoa suffered a minor ankle injury and needed about 2 weeks to fully recover.
For Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, this is the first time the defender born in 2001 has been called up to the national team. Training with her seniors on the team is a useful experience for young players to learn and draw lessons for themselves, aiming for future goals.
To strengthen the attack, coach Mai Duc Chung called up striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan from Ho Chi Minh City club from September 12.
The Vietnamese women's team will depart for Wenzhou, China at 11:45 am tomorrow (September 19). Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team's flight will connect in Guangzhou before landing at 6:55 pm the same day at Wenzhou city airport.
At ASIAD 19, the Vietnamese women's team is in the same group as Japan, Nepal and Bangladesh. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team's goal is to reach the quarterfinals.
