'Earth, water, wind, fire...', the journey to awakening in Nguyen Duy Nhut's works

On the evening of January 6, at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts (97 Pho Duc Chinh, Nguyen Thai Binh Ward , District 1), artist Nguyen Duy Nhut took a walk with palm trees and all kinds of colors through the exhibition Nguyen Duy Nhut - the light and instict of arts, introducing his own art space with the message "earth - water - wind - fire and heart".

Speaking at the opening ceremony, painter Ngo Dong - a colleague of painter Nguyen Duy Nhut highly appreciated the talent and style shown in the exhibition works. As a painter born and raised in Dak Lak , Nguyen Duy Nhut studied and graduated with a master's degree in fine arts at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. With many domestic and international exhibitions, the name of painter Nguyen Duy Nhut has become familiar with paintings from cubism, abstraction to surrealism: Still life in space, Melting into nothingness, Gaia's confession, Contemplative night, Curled in a dream, Escape, Shake off, Confession, Dynamic meditation ...

The theme of earth, water, wind and fire is not new. "Over time, not only ancient teachings but also many other systems have applied these same elements to explain everything from biology to psychology, astrology and sometimes it is also used to symbolize human behavior. Although each element has its own physical properties, earth, water, wind and fire all demonstrate flexibility in recreating the world around us. This transformation still happens every day, creating a magic and continuity in their existence," artist Nguyen Duy Nhut confided.

And from that feeling, through the talented hands of the artist, Nguyen Duy Nhut freely created works that captivated viewers. He blended into the elements of nature, entered the universe and became a part of those factors, to answer and experience spirituality completely.
