Core strength, irreplaceable

The competition not only unleashes the potential of data but also emphasizes the pioneering role of the young generation, and calls for synchronous responsibility from ministries, branches and localities to turn the resolution into a vivid reality, serving the two-level government and sustainable socio -economic development. If in the industrial era, natural resources and manual labor were the main driving force, now data is the "source" of survival, promoting economic growth and social innovation at a dizzying speed.

Students of University of Technology enthusiastically registered to participate in the contest.

In the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, data is not only a supporting tool but also a key factor to achieve advanced levels in many fields of science , technology and innovation by 2030, contributing to Vietnam's global integration. Through national platforms such as the Population Database and Project 06, data not only optimizes state management but also opens up countless creative opportunities for businesses, scientists and especially the young generation, who will lead this digital revolution.

The Data for Life competition, with its mission of turning ideas into practical products, is clearly demonstrating this value. In just its third season, the competition has attracted more than 100 creative ideas from the community, through the "Idea Bank" open from May 1 to June 5, 2025, demonstrating its strong appeal to young people who love technology. Major General Vu Van Tan, Director of the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, affirmed: "The core value does not lie in the prize but in the ability to apply: Products must be put into practice by businesses and state agencies to truly create change."

Sharing the same view, Dr. Dinh Viet Sang, Vice Principal of the School of Information Technology and Communications - Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Head of the Advisory Board, emphasized that the competition does not stop at empty ideas but focuses on incubating and supporting product development after the competition. This companionship has turned Data for Life into a startup launch pad, where Vietnamese intelligence is honed to serve the community, from urban management to digital healthcare , and especially gives opportunities to the young generation, the core force in Resolution 57 to lead digital transformation, turning data into a driving force for green and sustainable growth.

Not only limited to experts, the contest also spreads strongly to students and businesses, with the participation of large corporations such as FPT - a partner of the Ministry of Public Security. Tran Manh Hung, a student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, shared: "The contest is a very useful opportunity for us to explore AI more deeply, hoping to contribute practical ideas that bring value to everyone, including students like us."

Meanwhile, the National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB), the winner of the Data for Life 2024 competition with a solution applying big data and artificial intelligence, considers this a testament to its digital transformation strategy: "It recognizes the effort to increase value for customers and society", or the products that have been put into application since the 2024 competition season have become the foundation to promote strong digital transformation in healthcare, education, and banking. These stories also affirm: Data is not an abstract concept but a real power, connecting the State, businesses and young people in the journey of building a digital nation, where the young generation plays a pioneering, creative and leading role, in line with the goal of Resolution 57 on nurturing high-quality human resources for the new era.

Resolution 57 is considered a guideline for the development of science, technology, innovation, creativity, and digital transformation to serve the country entering a new era, an era of growth, an era of wealth and prosperity. In order for Resolution 57 to become "daily food and drink" in people's lives, the ideas of the above contest do not just stop at "ideas", but require synchronous action from ministries, branches, and localities to turn creativity into reality, avoiding the situation where ideas "die young" or are stored in storage as "trophies".

Join hands to turn ideas into reality to serve development

Data for Life is an exemplary model, but its value will only truly explode when the award-winning products are widely deployed, serving two-level governments from the central to local levels in administrative management, social security and socio-economic development. Ministries and branches must be responsible for creating a clear legal corridor, allocating resources in a timely manner to test and replicate solutions, and closely coordinating with localities to apply data to local practices, from large cities to remote areas, ensuring that digital transformation leaves no one behind.

The ideas of the competition only truly "live" when they are developed and applied to life to serve the people.

Enterprises, as economic pillars, need to proactively invest and cooperate in commercializing creative products from the competition, turning Vietnamese intelligence into specific socio-economic values, contributing to promoting green and sustainable growth in the spirit of Resolution 57. Meanwhile, schools, young people, the "incubators" and future owners, must be supported through post-competition programs to nurture their aspirations to contribute, turning ideas into practical solutions to serve the community.

The State, enterprises, ministries, branches and localities can completely build a mechanism to "order" schools to train human resources according to the needs of the unit to serve their activities. Only when the pillars including the State, schools, enterprises and young people work together closely, Resolution 57 can truly come into life, from population data management to AI application in social security, ensuring that data becomes a lever for socio-economic development in the new digital era, where Vietnam not only keeps up but also leads the global race.

Ideas from the Data for Life competition, no matter how creative, only have real meaning and "live" when they are not stored away or displayed as soulless trophies. Previously, young people had a very intellectual technology playground called "Robocon Vietnam". In reality, many technology initiatives in Vietnam often fall into a state of "dormant" after the competition ends, due to a lack of implementation support mechanisms, leading to a waste of national intellectual resources. In the context of Resolution 57 emphasizing digital transformation breakthroughs, these ideas only have maximum effectiveness when the whole society joins hands to act and develop, turning them from abstract concepts into practical tools serving life.

The government, as a leader, needs to develop specific policies to integrate award-winning solutions into national management systems, from population databases to local projects, ensuring they are not forgotten. Businesses must participate as strategic investors, providing capital and technology to commercialize and turn ideas into competitive products in the market. Schools and research institutes play a key role in incubating, training and refining ideas, connecting theory with practice through collaborative programs.

Young people, the core creative force, need to be encouraged to participate continuously, not only in the competition but also in the implementation process, to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit. And finally, the entire population from ordinary people to the business community must participate in using, giving feedback and spreading, making the solutions an indispensable part of daily life. Only with this synchronization can the ideas from Data for Life truly "come to life", contributing to the realization of Resolution 57, promoting Vietnam's breakthrough in the digital age. Therefore, any delay can cause them to stop at the "competition", wasting national potential.

With three successful seasons and the recent launch of the application round, Data for Life not only affirms its pioneering role but also warns of responsibility: Any idea, if not applied, will forever remain an “idea in a drawer”. In the context of Vietnam striving for digital integration, data and competitions like this are the levers that turn resolutions into vivid actions, ensuring that the country does not fall behind but also makes a strong breakthrough in the new era.
