In early 2025, Dutch Lady dairy company received good news with the certificate 'For National Green Environment 2024'

ANTD.VN - At the beginning of 2025, FrieslandCampina Vietnam's Ha Nam Factory, the company that owns the milk brands Dutch Lady, Yomost, Friso, Fristi..., received more good news when it was honored to be one of 18 businesses awarded the "For the National Green Environment" certificate for positive initiatives on action andeducation to raise awareness of environmental protection within the framework of the Closing Ceremony of the program "For the National Green Environment 2024" awarded by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment on December 29.

FrieslandCampina Ha Nam is honored to be one of 18 businesses awarded a certificate for positive contributions to the environment.

The program “For a National Green Environment” initiated by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment since 2012 has become a meaningful annual activity, contributing to raising public awareness of environmental protection. The program creates a bridge connecting businesses, organizations and individuals to join hands to respond to climate change and conserve biodiversity. In particular, propaganda and action are given top priority as effective solutions to prevent environmental degradation and pollution, towards sustainable development.

In 2024, the program responded to environmental activities launched by the Government and conveyed the messages of the "Green" campaign to the community, positive orientations and far-reaching influence to promote the circular economy , as well as encourage the community to join hands for a Green Vietnam, develop the carbon credit market, especially to achieve the goal of net zero emissions as committed by the Vietnamese Government at COP26.

Therefore, this certification marks a new milestone in the beginning of 2025 for FrieslandCampina, continuing the brilliant journey of 2024 with a series of outstanding achievements marking nearly 30 years of persistent action and advocacy towards sustainable development with long-term strategies.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the program "For the National Green Environment 2024", Mr. Mai Van Nghia, Deputy General Director of FrieslandCampina Vietnam shared: "This certification is a recognition of FrieslandCampina's sustainable commitment in Vietnam. We are constantly joining hands with the community, businesses, and state management agencies to both act and promote towards the goal of sustainable development as well as creating a stable future for future generations" .

Green production towards green environment

Currently, many businesses have been applying advanced, modern technology to production and waste treatment processes to help save energy and reduce emissions; applying ecological, organic agricultural solutions, biotechnology... not only helps bring economic benefits but also protects the environment and ecosystem.

FrieslandCampina Ha Nam is considered a typical green production model. To have a modern liquid milk and powdered milk production line, the factory has replaced 100% of diesel with steam from biomass energy to reduce tens of thousands of tons of _CO2 emissions each year. As a result, from 2015 to 2023, the factory has reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 98%, making the most of solar energy, optimizing energy consumption, and using a steam system from biomass.

Promote education and raise awareness of environmental protection

In parallel with production activities, FrieslandCampina also has practical initiatives in raising awareness of environmental protection. Specifically, since 2019, the company has pioneered with 8 other enterprises to found the Vietnam Recycled Packaging Alliance (PRO Vietnam) with the mission of improving the recycling collection capacity of alliance members, promoting the circular economy for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam. This demonstrates FrieslandCampina Vietnam's dedication to implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), packaging circulation, and reducing plastic waste in the supply chain, towards the goal of sustainable development.

To date, FrieslandCampina factories in Ha Nam and Binh Duong have implemented and maintained the commitment of “No waste to landfill”, ensuring that all waste is collected and treated in an environmentally friendly manner. Accordingly, 100% of milk cartons discharged from the factories are recycled to create useful products such as paper, roofing sheets, pallets, etc.

In 2023, the company also initiated a three-way strategic cooperation with Dong Tien Binh Duong Paper Co., Ltd. and Truong Thinh Construction Mechanical Co., Ltd. to improve the capacity of collecting and recycling waste packaging.

In addition, FrieslandCampina Ha Nam also donated trash bins to schools, guided students in the province through creative activities such as drawing pictures to protect the environment, classifying waste at source, cleaning the environment, recycling waste to protect the environment, fashion shows from recycled waste, etc.
