Infrastructure investment - Changing the face of poor rural areas

Thanks to the efforts of the locality, the companionship of the people, and the support for investment in socio-economic infrastructure development from the Central and the province, including the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025, the appearance of Phuoc Vinh Dong commune in the past (now Tan Tap commune, Tay Ninh province) has changed, and people's lives have been increasingly improved and enhanced.

Returning to Tan Tap commune today, many people are surprised by the "transformation" of a difficult countryside, especially in the hamlets: Thanh Trung, Dong An, Dong Binh, Vinh Thanh - one of the most difficult areas of the commune.

In the past, the transportation system, infrastructure, and facilities were not synchronized, often affected by high tides, and the poverty rate was still quite high. However, thanks to the "support" from the Central and the province, along with the continuous efforts of the Party Committee, local authorities, and the companionship and joint efforts of the people to overcome difficulties, including many practical and effective policies such as: support for infrastructure investment, production, business, social security... Tan Tap commune has risen from a poor rural area.

Nowadays, the appearance of the once most difficult hamlets of the commune has also improved and become more spacious. The electricity network, roads, schools, stations along with essential facilities have been newly built, better serving the needs of the people,... contributing to adding to the beauty of the heroic countryside.

The current appearance of Tan Tap commune has changed quite positively.

The National Target Program on New Rural Development and the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period play an important role in the current development process of Tan Tap.

The program has implemented a project to support investment in developing local socio -economic infrastructure with a budget of 13,200 million VND to invest in developing essential regional socio-economic infrastructure in the commune, serving people's lives, production, trade, circulation of goods and access to basic social services. Investment and maintenance capital mainly focuses on upgrading and repairing rural roads and maintaining basic works in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tai (residing in Thanh Trung hamlet) shared: Looking at the appearance of the locality now, everyone is very excited. The traffic infrastructure has been invested and upgraded to better meet the needs of travel, trade, and economic development. Our income has also increased significantly,... all basic aspects are much better than before.

People hope that the superior leaders will continue to pay attention to supporting investment and expanding transportation infrastructure to meet the socio-economic development in the current period as well as in the future when the country grows and enters a new era.

In addition, the local government also pays great attention to poverty reduction, economic development, and improving people's lives. The commune promotes economic restructuring, linking production and product consumption; supports preferential loans, vocational training, and implements effective livelihood models,... thereby gradually improving the lives and increasing the income of local people.

According to Ms. Thach Thi Lien (residing in Dong An hamlet), thanks to the local attention in the work, especially timely support, giving motorbikes, creating livelihoods for the family to develop the economy, I have the means to earn a living along with the work, the family has overcome difficulties, rising up in life.

The dual-track road of Thanh Trung hamlet, Tan Trung commune was invested and upgraded with funding supported by the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021-2025.

Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Hoai Thanh said: Tan Tap has now made great strides, especially in disadvantaged hamlets. In addition to local resources, throughout the development process, the commune has received a lot of attention and support from all levels in investing and upgrading infrastructure. The locality is supported financially by all levels, including the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period, investing in developing socio-economic infrastructure, facilitating travel, trade, connection, etc., contributing to improving the appearance and people's lives.

Although there have been changes compared to before, Tan Tap commune still faces many challenges, and people's lives are still difficult. Therefore, in the coming time, the local government hopes to continue to receive attention from all levels, the companionship of people and businesses to help Tan Tap transform even more strongly.

Regarding the development orientation in the period of 2025-2030, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh shared that the commune develops its economy in the direction of "industry, trade, services, urban areas, agriculture "; develops urban ports and logistics. The commune strives for an average income per capita of 110 million VND/year and by 2030 there will be no poor households (according to the poverty standard of the period, except for poor households without the ability to work);.../.
