Song Trang Border Guard Station strengthens border patrols, crime prevention and control

Captain Nguyen Hung Cuong - Deputy Head of Song Trang Border Post, said that in order to proactively prevent and combat crimes, the unit regularly innovates its methods of combating and deploying many professional measures. At the same time, the Post strengthens close coordination with forces to grasp the internal and external border situation; methods and tricks of all types of crime, especially drug crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, etc. to ensure effectiveness and safety, contributing to preventing and repelling the activities of all types of crime and law violations in the border area.

From the beginning of 2023 to now, the unit has organized 182 teams with 1,920 officers and soldiers to participate in border patrols and prevention of illegal entry and exit; coordinated with Ben Pho Border Guard ( Long An ) and Thong Binh Border Guard (Dong Thap) to organize 62 teams with 318 officers and soldiers to participate in patrolling and controlling the adjacent border area; chaired and coordinated with the police and military forces of 3 communes (Hung Ha, Hung Dien, Hung Dien B) to organize 126 teams with 610 officers and soldiers to participate in mobile patrols and controls to protect the safety of the area.

The station has proactively and synchronously deployed measures to combat and prevent all types of crimes, focusing on prevention, combining prevention and handling according to the provisions of law. From the beginning of 2023 to present, the unit has detected and handled 3 cases/5 subjects related to the border. Of which, 2 cases/1 subject were smuggling, the seized evidence included 1,900 packs of smuggled foreign cigarettes, 15 pigs, 1 wooden boat, 1 motorbike; 1 case/4 subjects with illegal exit behavior (1 subject picking up, 3 subjects exiting the country), prosecuted a criminal case against 1 subject for organizing illegal exit for others, and imposed an administrative fine of 12 million VND on 3 subjects exiting the country.

In addition, the Station organized border entry and exit registration for over 30,000 people and nearly 23,000 vehicles, ensuring strict implementation of inspection and supervision procedures, building regular order at the border gate; maintaining 2 checkpoints, 2 stations, and an administrative control team on duty 24/7 to manage and protect the border, prevent and fight against Covid-19, fight against illegal entry and exit, smuggling, etc.

According to Captain Nguyen Hung Cuong, in order to proactively prevent and combat crimes in the border area under his charge, in the coming time, the unit will develop professional plans, deploy and synchronously implement border work measures, closely coordinate with forces to effectively combat smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods across the border, illegal entry and exit; coordinate and advise Party committees, authorities and departments, branches and organizations to propagate people to actively participate in denouncing crimes, not to assist smugglers; closely coordinate with the Cambodian government and armed forces to exchange information and fight against smuggling and other types of crimes, contributing to firmly protecting political security, order and social safety in the area./.
