Support from experts and training institutions, along with their own efforts, has helped teachers learn to use modern tools and acquire the necessary knowledge in the context of digital transformation in education .
Efforts to equip
Starting in early summer 2025,FPT PolySchool Can Tho will organize a series of free training sessions on "Applying AI in Teaching" for secondary school teachers in the area. During these training sessions, teachers will be guided on how to effectively utilize various AI tools to support content creation, lesson design, increase interaction, and inspire student learning.
Some of the featured tools include: ChatGPT (for creating content and structuring lectures), Gamma (automatic slide design), Suno (AI-powered music composition), Invideo (creating illustrative videos ), Canva (visual design), and Notebook LM (smart note-taking).
Not only in Can Tho City, similar training programs were also organized on a large scale at many FPT PolySchool campuses such as Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. At the end of the training session, Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh - a teacher at Thoi Long Secondary School (Thoi Long, Can Tho) shared: “The training program not only provided me with theoretical knowledge, but also gave me the opportunity to practice and directly experience useful AI tools.”
I believe that, with the support of AI, general education will increasingly develop in a more modern, efficient, and humane direction. I hope to apply this knowledge to my daily work to contribute to building the best learning environment for students.”
Similarly, at the end of June, Nguyen Hien Secondary School (Tan Thoi Hiep, Ho Chi Minh City) organized a training course on "Applying AI to support teaching and learning based on Google Technology" for all teachers in the school. The training not only updated teachers on technology but also opened up new perspectives for education in the digital age. Teachers were guided on using AI tools to save time, create engaging lessons, increase interaction, and strongly inspire students to learn.
According to Mr. Dinh Van Trinh, the school principal, many teachers, initially hesitant, have proactively explored and experimented with AI tools and created content. "Although it was only encouraged, when the school announced the training plan, over 90% of teachers registered to participate."
"The training course has equipped teachers with professional knowledge and skills to improve the quality of teaching and learning, and to implement modern and advanced teaching methods to meet the requirements of educational development in the new situation," Mr. Trinh said.
After the training session, Ms. Le Thi Quynh Hoa, a teacher at the school, said that she found it interesting and beneficial, so she independently sought out online courses to update her knowledge.
“Teachers who know how to use AI will gain many benefits such as: searching for diverse learning resources; preparing lesson plans and creating lecture slides faster and more engagingly… Because the 2018 General Education Program requires innovation in teaching methods. The AI training program helps teachers confidently create in choosing teaching methods. In particular, teachers will be able to design learning activities that apply AI in teaching, contributing to improving the quality of education,” Ms. Hoa said.

Proactive teachers
In fact, Ho Chi Minh City has many advantages in integrating AI into education with the support and collaboration of many businesses. AI helps teachers personalize the teaching process, analyze teaching trends, and provide optimal learning solutions for students.
In particular, with digital technology, AI also helps the city bring modern educational solutions to disadvantaged areas, especially suburban areas, narrowing the gap in educational quality between the city center and the suburbs. Above all, AI opens the platform to make English the second language in schools, and with the support of technology, it makes teaching English and science in English more convenient.
Recently, many teachers have been independently exploring and using AI in their teaching. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy, a teacher at Le Van Viet Primary School (Tang Nhon Phu, Ho Chi Minh City), had previously learned about AI online without attending any formal training courses. She began applying AI in her teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"In my opinion, if teachers know how to use AI, they will teach more creatively and save time on lesson planning. Therefore, I hope that all teachers will proactively learn, because if they don't, they will fall behind," Ms. Vy emphasized.
Similarly, Ms. Bui Thi Canh, a teacher at Tan Phu Primary School (Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai), also independently explored digital technology and AI to support her teaching. Ms. Canh used the Suno application to compose songs about mathematical formulas, helping students memorize them more effectively. These songs are often used in the warm-up and reinforcement parts of lessons. She also researched and used AI to create mind maps…
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, a teacher at Thuan Kieu Primary School (Dong Hung Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City), she and her colleagues are currently participating in online training courses on "Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Teaching and Learning" in 2025, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on Saturday afternoons (from July to early August 2025). In addition, over the years, Ms. Thao has proactively sought out and registered for many training courses on using AI in teaching.
Ms. Thao shared: “The use of AI in teaching today is inevitable. Teachers are proactive and open-minded, diligently studying, researching, exploring, and applying it effectively and flexibly to improve their expertise and deliver lively and engaging lessons to learners. Of course, there are still many platforms available, so teachers need to understand their advantages and disadvantages, whether they are suitable for their lessons, and how to save costs. Because some platforms currently require expensive account activation fees.”
Mr. Dinh Van Trinh stated: “With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, applying technology to teaching and learning has become one of the important skills for teachers. Therefore, in addition to in-person training sessions, teachers at the school are encouraged to learn online. If AI is used in teaching, students will certainly be more interested.”
