In more than 3 years of implementing the National Target Program 1719 in Thuan Bac district ( Ninh Thuan ), the Program has created livelihoods for people to effectively promote investment resources and escape poverty sustainably. At the same time, investing in infrastructure construction has contributed significantly to comprehensively improving the lives of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.
Mr. Nguyen Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Bac district, Ninh Thuan province, said that in 3 years (from 2022-2024), the National Target Program 1719 has supported the locality with over 17 billion VND to implement Project 1 on solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, domestic water, and job conversion for 871 poor ethnic minority households in 5 communes in extremely difficult areas including Phuoc Chien, Phuoc Khang, Bac Son, Cong Hai, and Loi Hai.
Accordingly, Project 1 capital has invested more than 12 billion VND to solve housing land for 46 Raglay households in Bac Son commune, each household has an area of over 220m2. Up to now, the residential land has completed leveling the ground, traffic roads, drainage system, electricity, leveling and dividing the land into plots to prepare for land allocation. There are 542 households supported to change jobs with a budget of 4,836.2 million VND, helping the poor buy production equipment. Specifically, Phuoc Khang commune has 130 households, Cong Hai 106 households, Phuoc Chien 147 households; Bac Son 156 households, Loi Hai 3 households. In addition, 283 households are supported with decentralized domestic water with 828.9 million VND, including Phuoc Khang 85 households, Cong Hai 33 households, Phuoc Chien 91 households, Bac Son 50 households, Loi Hai 26 households...
The capital source of the National Target Program 1719 has promoted investment efficiency, helping to reduce the poverty rate of ethnic minority households in Thuan Bac district by over 5% each year. By the end of 2023, the whole district had 1,508 poor households, accounting for 13.33% of the total number of households living in the district, of which 110 were poor Cham households and 1,283 were Raglay households. The goal is to reduce the poverty rate of the whole district to 8% by the end of 2024.
