Strengthening propaganda and supervision to improve the effectiveness of Program 1719

To effectively implement Project 1 under the National Target Program 1719, Tra Vinh province has promoted propaganda and dissemination, and regularly inspected and supervised the implementation of the Project. Thanks to that, the quality of life of the people has also been gradually improved.

Since the implementation of the National Target Program 1719, districts and cities in the province have supported 34 households with residential land and 1,078 households with housing. Regarding support for production land, communes have not implemented it because there is currently no more production land to allocate to households, instead of allocating production land to people. To do this, the People's Committees of localities carry out job conversion by supporting from the State budget to purchase agricultural tools, machinery, etc. or job conversion through loans from the Social Policy Bank for cultivation, animal husbandry or performing some basic services.

Thanks to that, up to now, the whole province has supported 333 households to change their jobs. To solve the problem of domestic water shortage in areas with difficult water sources, water storage devices were purchased. In places where domestic water sources are available but there are no connection conditions, water connection devices were purchased to bring water to 124 households.

According to the leader of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Tra Vinh province, to implement Program 1719, as well as Project 1 of the Program, the People's Committee of Tra Vinh has propagated, disseminated, and trained the people on the implementation of the projects, especially detailed information on the policy content, beneficiaries supported with residential land, housing, production land, job conversion, and domestic water under Project 1 of the Program.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a Decision approving the plan to inspect, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Program in the province. In 2024, the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Tra Vinh province established a team to inspect, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Program with the participation of departments and branches; contributing to removing difficulties and speeding up the disbursement progress of capital under Project 1. Thereby, making a comprehensive change in the ethnic minority areas in the province.
