This is the affirmation of experts at the scientific workshop "Application of AI tools in vocational education development" organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in coordination with the Institute of Vocational Education Research on the morning of November 6, in Hanoi.
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution spreading strongly around the world, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a core technology promoting innovation in production, business and social governance.

Vietnam is promoting digital transformation, developing the digital economy and building high-quality human resources, in which vocational education (VET) plays a central role - training a technical workforce with digital skills to meet new development requirements.
The workshop created a forum for in-depth exchange between scientists , experts, lecturers, management agencies and businesses on the application of artificial intelligence in teaching, administration and assessment of vocational training, contributing to improving the quality of national human resources in the digital age.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Thao - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations said that this is an important step in making AI a core innovation tool of the vocational education system, towards the "smart vocational education - Smart TVET" of Vietnam.
Presenting the topic "Application of artificial intelligence technology in vocational education development: Opportunities, challenges and implementation orientation in Vietnam", Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, former Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations - Government Office affirmed the role of AI in automation, personalized learning, and vocational skills simulation, while pointing out challenges in infrastructure and human resources.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, former Vice Principal of the School of Science and Technology Management (KH&CN) - Ministry of Science and Technology analyzed "Current situation, needs and potential of AI application in vocational education; world trends and policy suggestions for Vietnam".
He emphasized the need to form an AI ecosystem in vocational education, synchronizing from institutions, simulation infrastructure, data standards, teacher capacity to business-school cooperation.
MSc. Le Viet Cuong, Hanoi College of Electronics and Refrigeration, shared practical implementation of AI in vocational training, including the model of using ChatGPT API to support automatic scoring, AI+VR simulating vocational operations and the cooperation program "AI for Vocational Skills" between the General Department of Vocational Education and Microsoft Vietnam.
He proposed to strengthen digital capacity training for lecturers, build open learning materials on AI and promote three-way cooperation between "State - School - Enterprise" (Triple Helix).

In addition, presentations from MSc. Bui Thanh Van (Vietnam-USA College, Hanoi) and MSc. Dang Vuong Anh (WMACapital) provided an international perspective on AI applications in vocational education, especially from successful models of Germany, Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
At the workshop, experts and educators agreed that AI is not only a support tool, but also a strategic foundation to help Vietnamese vocational education transform strongly - from a traditional training model to a smart, digital and internationally integrated training model.
Experts also proposed establishing an annual Forum on AI in Vocational Education in Vietnam, connecting schools, research institutes, technology enterprises and policymakers to jointly implement cooperation programs, pilot and replicate the "Smart TVET Center" model in key economic regions.
