Since 2019, Dong Nai province has implemented 2 projects including: Livestock and Poultry Farm Management Project and Traceability Project of Essential Foods of Animal Origin in the province.

By the end of June 2025, the whole province had 1,224 individuals and organizations including supermarkets, convenience stores, markets, slaughterhouses, traders, livestock facilities, industrial park collective kitchens... registered to participate in pig origin tracing and were granted accounts. Accumulated to the end of June 2025, the whole province had 129,747/1,378,200 pigs with traceable origin (reaching 9.4% of the project's target).

Although the results are still limited, the above projects have established a model for managing, identifying and tracing the origin of pork products in the province based on the application of information technology. Strengthening the capacity for managing, controlling quality, identifying and tracing the origin of pork products from the stages of raising, slaughtering, transporting, trading and consuming pork products in the province.

After the merger, Dong Nai province has a large area, a large livestock herd, especially when the epidemic situation is complicated while the staff is small, promoting digital transformation in managing the herd, epidemics, and tracing the origin of livestock products is really necessary. In the coming time, Dong Nai's agricultural sector will continue to promote digital transformation, which is a favorable condition for effectively implementing projects on tracing the origin of pork in particular, and livestock and agricultural products in general.

Many opinions at the working session contributed solutions to more effectively implement the traceability of pork and livestock products associated with building a linkage chain such as: It is necessary to have a specific assessment of the achieved results to have a basis for continuing to implement the project in the new phase; build a database system on the provincial livestock industry connected to the national system; strengthen propaganda work to raise awareness; focus on training and technology transfer to have a team of proficient practitioners, using and effectively exploiting management software; propose additional mechanisms and policies to support facilities and enterprises participating in the project of tracing the origin of livestock products in digital transformation investment;...
