Quang Ngai requests to speed up the progress of projects to overcome the consequences of natural disasters
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province requested the investor to immediately direct the contractor to speed up the construction progress of the Van Ca Vai Residential Area Disaster and Landslide Overcoming Project.

The Van Ca Vai Residential Area Disaster and Landslide Remediation Project has a total investment of 14 billion VND, invested by the Son Ha District Land Fund Development and Investment Project Management Board. The project started in July 2024 and is expected to be completed by October 31, 2024. However, to date, the contractor has only completed more than 23% of the contract value, with a disbursement rate of 5.2%.
According to the investor's report, this is an emergency construction project, started on July 15 and was completed in 108 days (completed before October 31).
The joint venture of contractors: Minh Quan Construction Trading Company Limited - Thanh Nghia Company Limited was selected to execute the project. Phu Binh Investment and Trade Construction Joint Stock Company is the supervising consultant, Thien Hoang Consulting and Construction Company Limited is the design consultant.
Up to now, although the site has been handed over for 62 days, the joint venture contractor has only completed more than 23% of the contract value, with disbursement reaching 5.2%.
Regarding this project, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang expressed concern about the aesthetic aspect, and at the same time asked for clear design parameters of the project, such as: Solution to harden the surface of the pillars, thickness of horizontal concrete of the top of the pillars, horizontal and vertical drainage along each pillar, slope of the project... plan to reinforce the foundation of electric poles near the project.
There is still a large amount of soil and rock covering the first and second floors of the project, located close to the edge of houses, posing a potential safety risk when there is heavy rain, waterlogged soil causing landslides; therefore, Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang requested the investor to urgently direct the contractor to move all this soil and rock to the disposal site.
In addition, in response to the forecast of the meteorological and hydrological agency on the development of this year's floods and the actual construction progress of the project, the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee requested the investor to direct the contractor to speed up the construction progress, closely following the technical requirements and quality of the project.
"The project is already behind schedule due to design. Now, we have to increase the number of people, increase the number of vehicles, increase the number of shifts, and be flexible with the construction time during the day, taking advantage of favorable weather to increase output, and quickly bring the project to the finish line," emphasized the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
