Many playgrounds for children and teenagers in the summer
As scheduled, every summer, Nguyen Phong Art class of teacher Nguyen Huu Phong, in Dong Hoi ward, organizes extracurricular programs for children. Each workshop attracts nearly 100 children to participate.
“I am studying drawing in a class organized by Mr. Phong and this is the second time I have participated in an extracurricular activity. Last year, I experienced drawing on cakes, and this year I got to draw on flower pots. I am very happy to participate in this activity because it helps me to be more creative and suits my interests,” Vo Hoang Mai (Dong Thuan ward) happily shared.
Teacher Nguyen Huu Phong said that this is the 5th time the extracurricular program has been organized with the aim of creating a new playground outside the classroom for children. Children will experience new forms of organization, freely express their drawing ability, and have the opportunity to exchange and learn from each other.
At the Quang Binh Children's House (Dong Hoi Ward), nearly 100 talent and skill classes with many diverse and rich types and subjects were held this summer, attracting the participation of more than 1,600 children and teenagers. Along with the talent classes, the Children's House also coordinated to organize summer camps, including a semester program in the army that took place last June, attracting nearly 150 students to participate.
After 7 days of experience as a "little soldier", Duong Minh Nhat (Dong Hoi ward) has acquired many useful skills and knowledge. Minh Nhat shared: "After participating in the military semester program, I learned many interesting things such as: martial arts movements, military commands, 10 honorable oaths of soldiers. In addition, I learned some survival skills, how to fold blankets neatly, practice the habit of morning exercise... The program has brought me many interesting experiences, equipped me with many necessary life skills to help me become more mature".
Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Nga, Minh Nhat's mother, confided: "Instead of just staying at home and depending on electronic devices, I want my child to go out, interact and grow up. My goal is not only to train discipline or independence, but also to help my child learn to appreciate life and family affection when he has to be away from home for a while."
Sharing the same view, Ms. Hoang Le Huong (Dong Hoi ward) shared that at the beginning of every summer, she plans extracurricular activities for her two sons. She registers them for sports such as swimming, basketball... so that they can both equip themselves with life skills, train their physical strength, and develop their height.
In addition, Ms. Huong also lets her children participate in some talent and art classes so that they can develop their emotions and satisfy their passions. "I see time passing by so quickly. If I am not with my children when they are young, when they grow up, I will regret it so much... Therefore, I accept sacrifices and change jobs to be able to balance my time and spend more time with my children," Ms. Huong confided.
“With the responsibility of a state unit organizing summer activities, we advocate constant innovation but must adhere to basic criteria and principles and must ensure peace of mind for parents when sending their children to study and participate in activities here,” affirmed Director of Quang Binh Children's House Ha Thi Binh. |
Be careful when choosing a playground for children.
Nowadays, extracurriculareducational activities are becoming more and more popular, so to affirm their reputation, units with a tradition in organizing these activities must change and transform.
Director of Quang Binh Children's House, Ha Thi Binh, said: Constantly being creative and innovative in activities is a mandatory requirement for Quang Binh Children's House. Right from the end of each summer, we hold meetings to review summer activities; self-review, adjust the program and build new models and activities that are truly attractive and useful to implement in the following year.
On the other hand, the unit always pays attention to ensuring safety, especially when the age range of the participants is increasingly expanding and the activities are diversified. Another important criterion that officers and employees must have is love for children, always taking children as the center because only love for children can create appropriate and useful activities.

Due to the increasing demand for playgrounds for children during the summer vacation, many extracurricular programs and summer camps for children organized by many organizations and individuals have recently "blossomed". There are even disguised activities for business purposes.
Therefore, in addition to accompanying and supporting, parents also need to consider and calculate in choosing suitable courses and playgrounds for their children when they do not have enough skills to protect themselves.
Ms. Hoang Le Huong said: “When choosing courses, I always base them on the talent, interests, and personality of each child to guide them to participate in the most appropriate way. For example, the second child is a bit shy, so I let him participate in the MC training course. After a while, he became much bolder than before.”
To choose a reputable program for her child, Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Nga shared her experience: "The first thing I care about is the suitability for my child. I will talk to see what my child likes, based on my child's strengths, I will consider and choose a suitable program. With each program, in addition to considering whether it really helps my child develop strengths or overcome weaknesses, I also pay close attention to the reputation of the organizing unit.
Accordingly, I often prioritize programs organized by large organizations such as the Youth Union, Children's House, or educational units with many years of experience. At the same time, I carefully study the program content, balance between training and entertainment, and ensure safety, from accommodation, transportation to the management team, and supervise the children."
Instead of following trends and listening to advertisements, each parent needs to be alert and careful in choosing programs, activities, and entertainment for children during the summer. And organizations and individuals organizing playgrounds and activities for children also need to comply with the law, ensuring that the programs are organized safely and with quality. Only then can children have a truly happy and healthy summer, ready to enter the new school year positively and enthusiastically.
