Proposal to recognize FPT and Marvell as strategic partners in semiconductors and artificial intelligence of Da Nang

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, FPT is the leading enterprise in the IT sector of the country. Recognizing FPT as a strategic partner shows Da Nang's recognition and expectation of the enterprise's influence on the development of IT as well as the development potential of the enterprise when moving to the field of semiconductors and artificial intelligence for the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry of the city.

FPT commits to support Da Nang in software, hardware, human resource training and content to develop semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and long-term development in the city for a minimum of 5 years. Attracting FPT to set up an office in Da Nang Software Park is in line with the strategic goal of developing the city's microchip industry.

Regarding Marvell Vietnam Technology Company Limited (a branch of Marvell Technology, Inc. headquartered in the US), the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the company committed to supporting software, hardware, human resource training and content to develop semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and long-term development in the city with a minimum period of 5 years.

Attracting Marvell Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. to set up an office in Da Nang Software Park is the result of the process of contact, exchange and working between the city's leaders and partners, large technology corporations in semiconductor microchips. This is also the company that the Da Nang People's Committee signed a strategic partnership memorandum of understanding with on January 16, 2025.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the recognition of Marvell Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. as the first strategic partner with foreign investment will pave the way, encourage and create confidence for the next foreign-invested enterprises.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City also said that the city's strategic goal by 2030 is to become one of the three major centers in Vietnam for semiconductor design and artificial intelligence application development; increase to at least 30 semiconductor design enterprises and design services; strive to attract at least 1-2 packaging and testing enterprises.

Attracting large domestic and foreign enterprises such as FPT and Marvell to develop in Da Nang contributes to enhancing the image of the city. These are also the first enterprises, opening the way for the development of semiconductor chips according to the Project on Development of Semiconductor Chips and Artificial Intelligence approved by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in Decision 257/QD-UBND dated January 21, 2025.
