(QNgTV)- The Vietnam Road Administration has proposed implementing a project to strengthen the road surface and improve dangerous locations on Ho Chi Minh Road through Da Nang City and Quang Ngai Province.

According to Road Management Area III (Vietnam Road Administration), the Ho Chi Minh Highway section through Lo Xo Pass was put into operation in the period 2003-2005. After more than 20 years of operation, this route has deteriorated, especially since 2015. Severe damage is common on cement concrete pavement slabs with longitudinal cracks, transverse cracks, corner cracks and complete breakage.

The Vietnam Road Administration has reported to the Ministry of Construction to propose an investment policy for the project: Strengthening the road surface, improving dangerous locations and traffic safety in some sections of the Ho Chi Minh road through the old Quang Nam province (now Da Nang city) - old Kon Tum (now Quang Ngai province).

Total investment is expected to be more than 1,983 billion VND, implemented in the period 2026-2030.
