"Cooking for you", Den's latest music product, was released on the morning of May 13. This is also the latest composition that Den dedicates to the audience before "Den's Show" on May 27.
Den and the children are students of Sa Tong Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
"Cooking for you" has a bright melody, with the voice of young singer PiaLinh (Huong Linh) and the warm rap voice of Den. From the images to the lyrics in this song, everything is about a special journey - Den and his friends go to the highlands to visit children at two boarding schools for ethnic minorities: Sa Tong Primary and Secondary School, Muong Cha, Dien Bien .
Sa Tong Primary and Secondary Boarding School is where Den and his fans joined hands to build a school, and also contributed lunches for the children to have the strength to go to school at the remaining school. Here, the path to school for the children is very difficult, and the teachers are also teaching in poor conditions.
After 2 years of the pandemic, Den had the opportunity to visit the children and the school he helped build. During the days of preparing for this trip, when discussing with the team what gifts to bring and what dishes to cook for the children and teachers, Den came up with the idea of writing "Cooking for You".
After 2 years of the pandemic, Den finally had the opportunity to visit the children and the school he helped build.
"I thought it would be great if I could write a song and then use the revenue to take care of the children regularly. So I started writing. Luckily, when I visited the children and returned, I had more emotions to complete the song" - Den shared.
Talking about his feelings during the visit to the two schools, Den was moved to say that only when he came here did he realize that his contribution to the "Nuoi em" project was only a small part in supporting the children.
The male artist wants to do something for the children.
"When I got there and felt it, I realized that building a school and inviting teachers to teach the children is not enough, but requires the great dedication of many people" - the artist said.
Still Den with his usual compositional style, "Cooking for you" has lyrics that are full of narrative and rhyme, with interesting comparisons such as "The sun is as yellow as fried eggs. When you stand straight, the mountains and hills must tilt", "When you grow up, you will swim in life, you will swim as strong as Anh Vien".
NV "Cooking for you" gathers the most authentic and natural moments from Den's own trip.
Not only describing the difficult path of going to school to look towards a bright future for the children, Den also sent warm and meaningful messages to the listeners: "We all have to learn how to improve day by day. At first, no one can be good right away because they don't know what to do. So look at the good people around you, see what they do and follow suit. And there are many good people out there."
Revealing about the clear female voice that helped him sing the part of "Cooking for you", Den said that he and PiaLinh (Huong Linh) have never met before.
Den sends warm and meaningful messages through his MV
"A friend sent me a demo and when I heard the first few lines, I knew right away that this was the voice that this song needed. Even the next day when I asked my friend to take me to the studio, PiaLinh didn't know what I was going to record. Until now, we still haven't met each other."
In the MV "Cooking for you", Den brings "specialties" from his hometown - Quang Ninh to the remote mountains for the children such as shrimp, squid rolls, shrimp paste stewed with meat. Together with the teachers, the male rapper cooks rice, prepares meals and plays with the children. The MV gathers the most authentic and natural moments from Den's trip, because initially, the crew did not plan to film an MV but only wanted to visit and cook for the children.
Revenue from song views and streams will be used to build schools and raise children.
The male artist said that he will donate the revenue from listening and viewing this song from now on to build schools and raise children. He hopes that the audience will receive the song in different ways, what he and his team are doing is just doing what they learned from the good people around them.
"Before I built the school, hundreds of schools were built. Before I raised you, tens of thousands of children were fed. I am not the first and certainly not the last," said Den.
