Dr. Phan Chi Hieu - President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Dr. Le Nguyen Bao - Director of Duy Tan University signed a cooperation agreement |
On the side of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, there were Dr. Phan Chi Hieu - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh - Vice President of VASS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Director of the Institute for European and American Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Thuy - Director of the Institute of Social Sciences for the Central and Central Highlands Region, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang - Director of the Academy of Social Sciences, and leaders and experts of departments under VASS. Representing Duy Tan University were Dr. Le Nguyen Bao - Director of Duy Tan University, Dr. Do Minh Hoat - Director of the Institute for Theoretical and Applied Research (ITAR) and leaders, Prof. Dr. Vu Xuan Quang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu My, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Bich and a number of researchers and staff from schools, institutes and member centers of Duy Tan University.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences welcomed the cooperation between the two units. The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences is a government agency, performing the function of researching fundamental issues in social sciences; providing scientific arguments for the Party and State in formulating guidelines, strategies, planning, plans, and policies for rapid and sustainable development of the country to serve socio -economic growth in the direction of socialism; advising on development policies in the field of social sciences; training human resources in social sciences according to the provisions of law. With more than 1,500 staff and facilities in all three regions of the country, VASS is truly the pillar of the country in developing scientific research and postgraduate training in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. Meanwhile, Duy Tan University is the leading university in Vietnam in terms of scale and training quality, especially the school has been internationally recognized for many achievements in scientific research and innovation.
This is one of the important reasons leading to the connection and cooperation between the two sides. Thereby, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu affirmed that today's ceremony marks a milestone in the history of cooperation that has actually existed for many years between the two units, affirming that the two units share the goal of successfully implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, Innovation and National Digital Transformation.

Sharing the same thought, Dr. Le Nguyen Bao - Director of Duy Tan University expressed his joy at the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two units. He shared Duy Tan University's recognition of the sincere support of many generations of staff of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences for the development of the university. Some staff and former staff of VASS such as Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Associate Professor Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thu My, Associate Professor Dr. Le Bo Linh, Dr. Hoang The Anh and many other famous staff have also participated in teaching and organizing annual seminars at Duy Tan University, leaving a good impression on the students and lecturers of the university. He expected that through the signing of the cooperation agreement, Duy Tan University would coordinate with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to organize a number of annual international conferences on a number of key International Relations topics as well as expand the research and teaching cooperation network, and especially co-write a number of valuable books/book chapters on socio-economic topics at home and abroad.

Also at the ceremony, the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Director of Duy Tan University discussed a number of other cooperation initiatives in the coming time. Based on this cooperation agreement, each unit will be responsible for assigned tasks in the spirit of friendly cooperation, meeting the goals and requirements of the country's socio-economic development. This memorandum of understanding will be effective for 5 years from the date of signing. After its expiration, the two sides will evaluate the results achieved and discuss signing further agreements.
