On the afternoon of May 18, Major General Le Xuan Sang, Deputy Director of the Department of Propaganda and Training, General Department of Politics, chaired a meeting to assign tasks to establish a scientific dossier on the Ho Chi Minh Trail historical site in Laos.
Implementing the direction of the Minister of National Defense and the direction of the Head of the General Department of Politics on completing the dossier to report to the Governments of Vietnam and Laos to recognize the Ho Chi Minh Trail Historical Relic in Laos in the second quarter of 2023, relevant units met to discuss and agree to deploy the task of preparing a scientific dossier.
Reporting on the survey results and preliminary description of clusters and relic sites on the Route 559- Ho Chi Minh Trail Relic Site in Laos, Lieutenant Colonel Dang My Hanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Arts, Department of Propaganda and Training, informed that for the surveyed sites, the Editorial Board will prepare a dossier to ensure correct and sufficient content as required by the Lao Cultural Heritage Law to propose recognition as a Lao national relic. Coordinate with relevant agencies and units on the Lao side to collect information, research, develop, supplement and complete the dossier according to the reality provided by the Lao side for clusters and relic sites that have not been surveyed.
Overcoming time pressure, with favorable policies from Vietnam and Laos, the units will agree on each task to ensure the dossier is completed in both time and content. Complete the scientific dossier, report to the Head of the General Department of Politics, Head of the Ministry of National Defense, and ask for opinions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism before June 20, 2023.
After listening to the opinions, proposals, as well as difficulties and problems from the participating agencies and units, Major General Le Xuan Sang emphasized that the parties need to agree on measures, responsibilities and tasks to successfully implement this task, ensuring quality and time. In addition to completing the procedures on the basis of the Heritage Law, the dossier must clearly state the significance and values that will be promoted in terms of culture, society and economy when the relic is recognized by the people of Laos.
