Hanoi University of Science and Technology's talent admission benchmark increased compared to 2023

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just announced the benchmark score for the talent selection method (XTTN) for about 20% of the enrollment target in 2024. Accordingly, the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) major has the highest benchmark score of 104.58 points above the maximum threshold of 110 points.

According to the Admissions and Career Guidance Department of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this year, there are 5,791 candidates registering for the XTTN method to enter Hanoi University of Science and Technology with 3 categories. Specifically:

Area 1.1: Direct admission of excellent students according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training is 295 candidates.

Area 1.2: Admission based on international certificates SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP and IB is 928 candidates.

Area 1.3: Admission based on capacity profile combined with interview is 4,568 candidates.

This is the method chosen by most candidates registering for XTTN, accounting for 79% of the total number of candidates participating in the talent selection method.

The required threshold and admission score according to the talent selection method are as follows:

This year, the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) industry continues to have the highest benchmark score of 104.58 points. Compared to the 2023 score of 98.42 points, the benchmark score of the IT-E10 industry increased by 6.16 points.

The remaining positions in the top 5 highest-scoring majors include: Computer Science (IT1) 103.89 points (up 13.72 points); Global ICT (IT-E7) 102.67 points (up 20.67 points); Cyber ​​Security (IT-E15) 102.6 points (up 20.56 points); Computer Engineering (IT2) 98.3 points (up 12.95 points).

This is also the group of 5 industries with the highest XTTN benchmark scores in 2023.

In 2024, a number of industries with high benchmark scores (90+) have appeared, showing trends in job demand in the coming time, including: Microchip and Semiconductor Industry Group (MS2); Health Science and Technology Industry Group (ET2, ET-E5, CH-E11); Logistics and Business Analysis Industry Group (EM-E13, EM-E14).

Most of the benchmark scores have increased compared to 2023. Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that this increase is explained by the number of XTTN 2024 applications nearly doubling compared to last year.

The fierce competition has been determined right at the “input” when there are many high-achieving candidates applying. On the other hand, this is also a group of industries with great demand for human resources in the trend of the times, attracting the attention of many candidates.

In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will recruit 9,260 students using 3 methods: Talent selection (nearly 20%); selection based on the results of the thinking assessment test (nearly 30%); selection based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores (nearly 50%).
