These days, Tra Nhieu community eco- tourism village (Duy Vinh commune, Duy Xuyen) has begun welcoming visitors to visit the countryside by bicycle or motorbike.

Wandering through the country roads, driving past green bamboo banks, tall areca trees, purple Lagerstroemia roads and bright yellow Phalaenopsis flowers, enjoying the peace and coolness in the hot summer sun is the hobby of many Western tourists.

Many “backpackers” comfortably admire the countryside scenery, check-in on the green sedge fields. Tourists can relax in the gardens or “hide from the sun” under the cool green bamboo groves after a long journey from Hoi An to Tra Nhieu by bicycle.

Tra Nhieu is one of the few villages in Quang Nam that still retains its pristine, tranquil beauty. The village is surrounded by two river branches, and nature has bestowed upon this place a pristine water coconut forest.

During high tide, visitors can row a basket boat in the water coconut forest, and catch fish and crabs with the local river residents. In this water coconut area, some community tourism destinations have been established, welcoming visitors to learn about traditional craft villages such as sedge mat weaving at Ms. Vo Thi Hong's facility; and water coconut leaf weaving at Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly's hut.

Tourists traveling in groups or individually can order and enjoy traditional, rustic dishes such as Quang noodles, pork rice paper, shrimp and pork pancakes, shrimp spring rolls or enjoy a rustic meal with dishes such as river fish, braised shrimp, boiled or stir-fried vegetables, sour soup with river fish... at the house of Mr. Huynh Van Trinh and Ms. Duong Thi Xanh.

“To serve tourists, especially Westerners, the dishes, although rustic and reasonably priced, must not be sloppy. They must be beautifully and impressively presented, with the quality of the food being put first, and especially cleanly prepared.

The same goes for the houses, which must maintain the rustic atmosphere of the old countryside but must be neat, clean, and airy. Many Western visitors who come here like to sleep in hammocks on the porch or in a hut near the water coconut area to catch the wind, while others stay in thatched houses overnight. We must learn how to welcome guests in a friendly manner, so that "the guests who come are pleased and the guests who leave are pleased" - Mr. Huynh Van Trinh shared.
